Mr. King: I wanted to use this platform to do something I never thought I’d be able to do thirty years ago, when I was reading at least thirty of your books one after another: to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all those countless hours of magic, pure enjoyment, and that delicious terror I felt every single day. Whether I was holding the book on the bus, on the subway, in the university library, or alone in my room, I was completely immersed in that unmistakable and extraordinary universe you created. Thank you for It, The Tommyknockers, Cujo, The Shining, Carrie, ’Salem’s Lot, Misery, Gerald’s Game, Pet Sematary, Needful Things, The Running Man and so many others. I really hope you get the chance to read this. You have no idea how much you taught and helped that teenager. Above all, you showed me how to be a good person and how important it is to face your fears. Thank you so much.
