What happens at things like these visits in part: it's an opportunity for India to outline its threat perception -- of Pakistan and China-Pakistan -- and highlight its own military prowess First, complain "noone understands us." Then complain "why are you telling them anything."
Western Command - Indian Army@westerncomd_IA

@petergyang Its worse when the people who push PRs don’t understand what “conflict” means. They think AI will resolve all the conflicts too.

My wife is a principal engineer who's been using Claude Code. She said it's made her life worse since she now gets 10x the number of PRs to review from her peers 😆

Just finished twelve TV interviews on the trot about Union Budget. One of the least appreciated things about policy making is the importance of lower back strength. No one tells you about this - but needed for surviving meetings, report writing, and major announcement day media interactions.

@tanvi_madan In Manali, while driving along the pristine waters of the Beas River, I saw people in a high-end SUV ahead of me throwing roasted corn, chip packets, and plastic water bottles onto the road, which eventually rolled downhill into the river.

At the Golconda fort 2 yrs ago: one of the boys from a school group threw a plastic bottle on the ground. My sister asked him to pick it up. Not only did the boy refuse, his teacher came over & aggressively yelled at my sister for daring to say anything. This was the *teacher*.

@Varungiri0 If Pakistan gets out of WC, ICC can ask Bangladesh to fill the vacant slot left by Pakistan. Bangladesh will get its wish- all their matches will then be in Sri Lanka.

From Pakistan’s perspective, this is the best time to strike at the ICC (which in many ways is seen as synonymous with India). Bangladesh, with a population of 170 million is already out. Now, if Pakistan pulls out, it would take another 250 million people away from the T20 World Cup. This is the right moment to test whether the ICC can really survive such a blow or not. Pakistan should exercise this option it may hit at the right place and at the right time. Moreover, such a move could help Pakistan build a more positive image among the people of Bangladesh and their government, which already appears to be aligning with them. It could draw Bangladesh closer to Pakistan and further deepen anti-India sentiment.

PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi says he’s waiting for Pakistan PM and his instructions on whether or not to play in the World Cup. And that ICC should be ready with the next team on waitlist (if Pak does indeed pull out) #ICCT20WORLDCUP

@ChShersh True. I had to move away from conventional design patterns to make LLM code generation easier. That said, I seriously doubt such code could be maintained by a team of more than five people.

Over more than a decade, India has cultivated a self-congratulatory tone in foreign policy—basically the opposite of hide your strength, bide your time—but a series of brutal reality checks over the past year has exposed the limits of Indian economic, technological, and military power. Shouting $4T economy at the top of your lungs every five minutes means little when you face a hostile $20T economy at your doorstep, and a $30T superpower with only one question: What have you done for me lately? Personally, I doubt that the hubris can be dialed down. It has become too deeply entwined with domestic politics. Nobody is going to win an election by saying, “actually, you know what, nobody sees us as Vishwaguru. India is a middle power in a rough neighborhood, and in some ways less secure than it was three decades ago.”
Christopher Clary@clary_co

Prior US govts did not want to force India to make a choice about Chabahar because we worried about the signals it would send. India would be confronted by the reality that any bilateral relationship comes with strings attached. This administration likes tugging on strings.

AI data centers by themselves won’t create much value. What enterprises truly value is ultra-low-latency inference—even a millisecond difference can become a competitive moat. Such enterprises will prefer to be as close as possible to a data center. The value is created by these enterprises, not by the data center itself.

Today I met with PM @narendramodi to discuss Anthropic's expansion to India—where Claude Code use is up 5× since June. How India deploys AI across critical sectors like education, healthcare, and agriculture for over a billion people will be essential in shaping the future of AI.
