Never mind about the Rolex… had no idea buying one was like buying a Ferrari, where you have to beg, jump though hoops and then buy products you don’t want to get the one you do want! 😂 thought it would be fun to own, but would much prefer to just order something on a website (like a Tesla!) and be done with it. These retail and reseller channels make things far too time consuming Is there a nice watch I can just… order?
@jason@Jason

I would like to purchase this @ROLEX

It says that Taiwan is part of China. It does not say that Taiwan is part of the PRC. Critical difference that you’re missing.

@FDD @MarkCMontgomery @FoxNews it’s funny. Taiwan won’t approve the arms purchases. Trump won’t approve the arms sale…why is this even a topic debated upon…

@jojjeols Western clowns always think of China as its government. No one in China thinks like this…China is a 5000+ year history of different dynasties and governments centered around cultural identity rather than political identity.

To be fair, the United States is bound by treaty to aid the Philippines in the event that they are attacked. In theory, if China were to attack the Philippines along with Taiwan, then the United States will fight on the side of the Philippines against China. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutual_De…

If the US policy toward Taiwan remains unchanged after Trump’s visit to China, as White House emphasized, the arm sales to Taiwan should not be delayed. This is the only way to ensure peace through strength.

The fight between freedom and authoritarianism is no longer a theoretical debate. It is unfolding in real time economically, technologically, culturally, and politically. And Taiwan stands at the very center of that struggle. Taiwan is not simply an island. It is the epicenter of the global technological race. More than 60 percent of the world’s semiconductors and over 90 percent of its most advanced chips are produced in Taiwan. These chips power everything from artificial intelligence and smartphones to fighter jets and missile defense systems. If you want to understand the future of AI dominance, economic strength, and national security, you must understand Taiwan. Read; 👇 foxnews.com/politics/trump…

Chamath: Taiwan Loses Its Strategic Importance in 18 Months @chamath: “ We're 18 months from Taiwan not being an important moment of conversation the way it is today. Why 18 months? Because we are at a point where we're probably 1-2 nanometers away from being able to do what we need Taiwan to strategically do for us. And so as we scale up our chip fabs, as we get more capacity, and interestingly, there are these orthogonal technologies being developed. I don't know if you guys saw, but Neuralink was showcasing a machine that is literally operating at the almost nanometer scale to do the brain operations for the implantation, all automatically. When you have the dexterity and the capability mechanically to make these things, the real reason then is a very different one than what it is today. Today, it's economic. And if you take that off the table, I think we'll have a very different attitude to Taiwan.”

It's understandable that those tech bros living in a safe country, prospering in a relatively stable intl order, finding audience to talk about everything w/o knowledge on everything, do not feel embarassed to show their ignorance & treat others like dirt.

Some of us actually care about the fact that Taiwan is a democracy. The PRC is not. But I realize that mine may be an outdated, old-school view these days. There once was a time when America stood for freedom, liberty, and democracy and not just chips.

@AMFChina it is not credible deterrence. Because China knows it would cost 10T, and therefore the US would never enter the war

According to Bloomberg Economics a war in the Taiwan Strait would cost an astronomical 10 trillion US$ in the first year alone [1]. It is in our collective security interest to prevent this world-shattering scenario. For credible deterrence we need to help Taiwan defend itself.
