@Mike_kim714 Ha I never use my 60 on the range!! Hung on to an old model for this exact reason. Glad to know I’m not crazy.

A practical tip with wedges: I typically change my 60 degree about every 4 tournaments. 56 maybe 7-8 weeks, 52 and PW around 10 weeks, Maybe a little earlier with the 60 if the greens I’m playing are firm on the 3rd week. Obviously that’s because we are trying to optimize every little aspect of our wedges and we get them whenever we need. Something you should do as amateurs is having one practice wedge and one on course wedge (for your highest lofted wedge) You can wear the practice one out with bad range balls (yes they do make a difference over time) and use a fresher wedge for only on course shots. That’ll save your wedges BIG time. Then rotate out the practice wedge when you get a new on course wedge. Also… make sure to clean ur grooves. There’s zero point to having new wedges if there’s any bit of grass there. Titleist suggests change every 75 rounds… But if you switch them out like I say, every 100-125 rounds is prob totally fine. Don’t tell them I said that tho lol

@LouStagner Why is this controversial? Data from the pros and the amateurs suggest closer is better under basically all circumstances? I only ever “lay back” if it means avoiding hazards, narrows, or other high risk shots

If you can only play one more round designed by one of these architects, which architect would you choose? Donald Ross McDonald / Raynor Perry Maxwell Harry Colt AW Tillinghast Dr. Alister Mackenzie Stanley Thompson Robert Trent Jones Walter Travis or (the curve ball) Bobby Jones (who co-designed only 2 courses)

Experienced Dormie Club for the first time and I’m sold But not for the reason you would think Golf is the secondary priority for the Dormie employees Their owners cut their teeth in the hospitality world, and are approaching this new “national membership” format with the same perspective It’s all about the CUSTOMER (us) From the second we arrived to the second we left, nothing was undoable and not a single “no” was given to us As someone who has been blessed to play at some incredible clubs (Pebble, Whistling straights, Valhalla, East Lake, etc…) None of them curate an experience around you. You form your experience around them And while it’s still fun to go to those places and the golf is incredible, the experience we had at Dormie blew the others away in regards to hospitality This organization is going nowhere but up

@fehrgolf This is one of my favorite practice routines. Take a 7 iron and hit a 50% shot focused on strike quality and shot shape. Used to be especially critical when I lived up North coming off the winter off-season

Golfers…if your instructor suggests slower and smaller swings to organize “structure” and to develop better sequence of movement, do what he/she says…a lot…now and forever. The world’s best do it, too! I have my clients feel that they do not use their arms or hands at all. I’m looking for the breakthrough of face-to-path stability/awareness. If you can do it well with your 7-iron at 50% this week, and at 60% next week, and so on, imagine where you could be in a month 👊🏻 And by the way, you can do the same process with all your clubs. Stay patient. Know that every practice session doing this is like making a deposit into your better golf account.

@CaddieNetwork @UrbanekMark Played a lot of caddie rounds. Best ever was a guy who looped for a top 10 champions tour player…he saved me probably 5-6 strokes (2-3 decision making, 2-3 green reading). Most of the time they’ll save 1-2 shots through local knowledge

@rbarbosa91 @nataliemwall @dorcodoc One of the absolute Godfathers of thoracic surgery once told me - “if you put in enough chest tubes you’ll eventually put one in the abdomen”. He also sent me a note saying “nice shot young man” with an attached photo of the CXR after I had to put a tube in his patient

@nataliemwall @dorcodoc I’ve never had the actual tube go into the abdomen, but I’ve had the first pass of the clamp go there, and detected it. I’ve also seen <very famous surgeon> do the same thing. As you might imagine, it tends to happen in obese patients, often those with elevated HOB.

@loconte @JCO_ASCO Thank you for sharing, such a difficult story but rings true to many (all?) of us in oncology. I am thankful for the grace that 99.9% of patients show in the face of bad news but have had similar fears in rare cases

@mleggturf Use the cart GPS. If you know your carry distances and trust them it’s really not that bad. Just have to pay attention to where it tries to visually fool you

Headed to Tabacco Road on Monday for my introduction to Mike Strantz. Any veteran tips out there for someone who hasn’t been through this property before? Excited is an understatement.
