@stetsondoggett What about T Mobile? I hear that they're locked for 60 days. Apple is only allowing a 2 year 0% APR promo on their apple card only for carrier phones. I have US mobile so does it mean I can't get the 0% promo ?

Whoa! Looks like the T-Mobile, Verizon, AND Boost Mobile iPhones bought directly from Apple will ship unlocked out of the box! Only AT&T iPhones on the financing agreement will be locked.

@stetsondoggett That’s why I always order from Apple they’re fully unlocked from those 3 carriers and I can multi network in the two areas I frequent

I just crushed through 70GB+ of hotspot data on US Mobile’s new plan. That’s more hotspot data than the top plans from AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon include. (They max out at 60GB). And US Mobile’s plan is still going strong.

Apple is working on three cellular modems to replace Qualcomm: - Sinope, coming in 2025 to the iPhone SE, slim iPhone 17, and low end iPads. This is an entry level modem without mmWave and other limitations. - Ganymede, coming in 2026 to the iPhone 18 and high-end iPads. This has mmWave and other features to match Qualcomm. - Prometheus, coming in 2027, with a goal of beating Qualcomm in performance and AI features.

Wireless branding today has become so boring.Literally no one is doing anything that is interesting, risky, discussion worthy, eye catching. ATT – is boring, try to be funny yet they fail. TMO – started strong but is now boring, and needs a refresh. VZW - boring, not memorable not sure who they are. Boost – is lost and rudderless. Cricket - fuzzy cartoon balls. Metro - nothing memorable. Total by VZ – poor copy of Metro by Tmo. As a brand Guy this is just the start of the next exciting brand in mobile @mobileXus 😄

@peter_adderton @dishwireless Boost should’ve just been absorbed by T-Mobile Boost still uses AT&T and T-Mobile so dish is basically an MVNO not a fourth carrier contender and they never have wanted their own network to maintain

Only Shot @dishwireless has is if Ergen reinvents himself...long shot but who knows my suggestions.😀 1.accept that you need to go back to the DOJ and FCC and get a more realistic timeline and expectations for the build out. 2.Accept you should have bailed out two spectrum auctions ago.😀 3.Accept that you need to focus on wholesale ONLY and sell off retail Now I think FCC and DOJ would accept that it was a mistake and would agree to this. 4.Accept that $10B isn’t going to cut it and move off this number. 5.become a wholesale provider only full stop and focus on network sharing deals with other MNO’s. 6.We don't need a 4th retail brand we need a 4th network that's a big difference.

@peter_adderton I wish carriers would stop locking phones they don’t manufacture the phone they just sell it to you. You should be able to put an esim without having to pay off your device if Apple or google offers their devices unlocked why can’t the carriers leave it unlocked?
