Over the last couple of weeks, our team has engaged 1,041+ farmers and stakeholders across 12 districts in Lango and Acholi through Pfumvudza farmer field days.
From farmers to district leaders, the signal is consistent: precision farming on small plots is working. #Pfumvudza #ConservationAgriculture

📱Commercial agents who tell great stories sell more.
That's why we recently trained commercial agents in Kiryandongo on how to use their smartphones as powerful tools for business promotion and storytelling.

One of Pfumvudza’s biggest advantages is labour efficiency. Minimum soil disturbance, permanent planting stations, and mulching dramatically reduce weeding and ploughing, the most expensive inputs for most smallholders. Less time weeding. Less money spent on labour. More time focused on planting, pest control, and timing.
For many farmers, this is where Pfumvudza pays for itself.

English

Pfumvudza is precision farming for smallholders.
It is about getting the maximum yield from the least possible investment, by being deliberate about every detail and eliminating waste.
Instead of spreading limited inputs thinly over large fields, Pfumvudza concentrates them where they matter the most: small, carefully managed planting basins. The result is higher productivity, lower cost, and better resilience.

For the past 3 years, CSJ has been working alongside smallholder farmers to apply the Pfumvudza model across different contexts.
It started as disciplined application of proven principles and is now showing clear results for smallholder farmers, refugees and host communities.
It has worked so well and generated such interest that we put together a manual for those looking to adopt it.

WIIGOT helps smallholder farmers access:
✅ Quality inputs
✅ Advisory & financial services
✅ Reliable produce markets
All through trusted local agents, like Boniface Ojok in Alebtong District.
Boniface is a produce dealer who, through Commercial Agent trainings by @csjuganda, is expanding his business. As produce volumes have declined between seasons, farmers in his community are now demanding certified seed and other agro‑inputs.
Boniface has opened a small agro‑input shop, diversifying his income while making quality inputs more accessible and affordable for local farmers.
This is how WIIGOT makes agriculture more efficient, fair, and market‑driven.
