@RealBlackIrish @russellfranks If you have to be told to google the number of a community ambulance service you might have bigger problems

I’m considering setting up a local ambulance service for my friends. Of course it will be fully accessible for the whole community, but only my friends will be given the phone number. Oh and I’ll be needing grants from the council to fund it. Is that ok with everyone?

good to see Australia's 2nd global city -- Western Sydney -- is attracting global carriers to its new airport. Great complement to Australia's first global city, Sydney.

Not to be Islamophobic, but funding emergency medical services is good, and incinerating ambulances is bad. Again, not to be Islamophobic.

@ct_18_ @AndrewHayen - Sydney GDP: 20% higher than Melbourne’s (Melbourne catching up fast) - Sydney: Second most populated city now - Sydney: Record number of Sydney siders fleeing to Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane bondi mass shooting, knife attacks? seriously?

@Cloudscoree @AndrewHayen Well it's the only one that isn't purporting to measure some vague, completely subjective metric like "liveability", so it's the only one that really matters when you're talking about "global cities"

@ct_18_ @AndrewHayen It’s funny you only use a SINGLE report that fits your narrative, every other has melbourne ahead even in those specific lists where sydney is ahead, melbourne is catching up real fast

@Cloudscoree @AndrewHayen *2 tiers higher, actually. Melbourne sits proudly in the same tier as other famously globally relevant cities such as Düsseldorf and...Johannesburg

@ct_18_ @AndrewHayen this is purely finance based, where both melbourne and sydney are alpha cities (sydney a small tier higher) if you take world class unis, world class events, and culture into account melbourne overtakes by a shit ton

@PeterCronau Hezbollah, Hamas and Ansar Allah are all Arabic names and yet curiously each is Iranian-linked, you absolute retard. What did you expect them to be called, IRGC Europe Pty Ltd? How are you a journalist?

This would be hilarious. The Israelis have just announced this new so-called ‘Iranian terror group’, giving it an Arabic name — totally forgetting that the Iranian language is Farsi.
ADAM@AdameMedia

They invented an "Iranian terrorist group" that they’re accusing of “antisemitic attacks” exactly as the war of aggression on Iran starts... They didn’t even bother to give it a Farsi name as they forgot that Iran doesn’t use Arabic…

Today the Australian public broadcaster ABC News decided to interview a Pakistani Muslim guy to try argue that Australians are opposed to allied US military bases in our country. ABC News headline tonight: ''AUSTRALIANS CONFLICTED OVER POTENTIAL USE OF UNITED STATES BASE PINE GAP INTELLIGENCE.'' Mr Syed Ali from the Alice Springs Islamic Society called it contemptible. Mr Ali grew up in Pakistan, which borders Iran, before moving to Australia in 2014. "It's devastating news for us, seeing those things happening with Iran, with the Middle East," he says. "It feels like someone is bombarding my neighbour country ... as Australians we should look into it.''

My view had been that Grace Tame should not be cancelled in relation to her core anti-sexual violence advocacy work over her “Globalise the Intifada” comments. But calling Hamas rape victims’ accounts “propaganda” would surely fundamentally undermine her core advocacy work now?
David Lange@Israellycool

After losing speaking gigs over her "Globalize the Intifada" chants, you might have thought former Australian of the Year Grace Tame might be in damage control mode. Alas, she just made things a whole lot worse for herself, denying Israeli women were murdered and raped on Oct 7, suggesting Hamas vs Israel is not a "fair fight", and even slipping in an antisemitic trope for good measure.

The Christchurch mosque attack was indeed a terrorist outrage (and committed by an expatriate Australian extremist). But nearly a hundred Australians (of many religions) have been murdered in Islamist terrorist attacks overseas, and at least 14 by Islamist terrorist attacks in Australia. Without a single Australian Muslim being murdered in a terrorist attack, except for those murdered by Islamist terrorists. Instead of perpetual victim-blaming those Australians reasonably and legitimately concerned about Islamist extremism and Islamist terrorism, surely ANIC, as the peak body of Australian Islamic theologians, could actually address the problem of Islamist extremism and terrorism? Rather than ANIC's perpetual and total in-denial stance about Islamism being an extremist and violent ideology based in bigoted interpretations of Islamic theology. When countering such extremist, violent and hate-filled bigotry should surely be the prime role of all mainstream Islamic theologians?
Australian National Imams Council@ImamsCouncil

Today, on 15 March, we remember Christchurch. We also confront the hatred that still lives among us. Seven years after an Australian far-right extremist murdered 51 Muslim worshippers in two mosques in Christchurch on 15 March 2019, Muslim communities in Australia are still being forced to live with the fear, trauma and reality of anti-Muslim hate. For more than two years now, communities have faced an alarming escalation in Islamophobic incidents. The most recent data referenced by Action Against Islamophobia has pointed to a shocking rise of over 300%, with reports ranging from threats of violence and intimidation to hate letters, mosque vandalism, racist graffiti, and chilling calls for a “Christchurch 2.0.” This is what hate looks like when it is ignored, normalised, or allowed to grow unchecked. To commemorate Christchurch is not only to honour the 51 lives taken. It is also to refuse the conditions that make this hatred possible. It is to stand with survivors, protect our communities, defend every person’s right to worship in safety, and say with clarity that Muslim communities should not have to live under the shadow of threats, abuse and violence. We remember the victims. We stand with the survivors. And we renew our commitment to confronting Islamophobia in all its forms. If you experience or witness an Islamophobic incident, you are encouraged to report it to us here: actionagainstislamophobia.org.au/report-an-inci…

@SerkanTheWriter What a disgusting cunt you are. And yet we're told there isn't a problem with Islamic extremism in this country when Australian Muslims show a consistent inability to show accountability for the actions of those in their community

Do you have any evidence for that, other than the completely unverified claim of some random former Indian diplomat? The exercise it was attending literally involved live firing drills. In any case, a warship being unarmed does not make it any less of a legitimate military target. You can scream and cry "war crime!" all you want but it's not going to make it one

Australian sailors embedded on the U.S. submarine USS Charlotte were ordered to their sleeping quarters during the attack that sank the Iranian warship IRIS Dena in the Indian Ocean. The move was meant to ensure the three Royal Australian Navy personnel did not participate in the offensive strike, which killed at least 87 people. Source: The Nightly
