I just found out that I won the 2023 PARO Resident Teaching Award from the University of Ottawa! I'm beyond excited and grateful for this recognition. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the development of medical students #teaching #PARO #UniversityofOttawa

When people say “diabetics”, “IDDM”, or “NIDDM” instead of people living type 1 (or type 2) diabetes…

How to be an excellent clinical teacher in medicine. Tweetorial. Just my thoughts during a 15 year career as a teacher, with some dabbling in #MedEd research. Some GI themes but applicable to all I hope. #GITwitter #MedTwitter

@DanielJDrucker @US_FDA Lots of discussion about potential for DKA but interestingly can’t use if previously or currently insulin-treated (maybe since can’t know for sure if type 1 in cats?) And no mention of increased risk of meowcotic genital infections

@AlannaWeisman @gillianlbooth Amazing work! It’s not easy to reach that ideal target of ≤ 7%. Question: what counts as an adult having an A1C ≤ 7%? Was it any A1C ≤ 7% for a given person within a given year? E.g. if someone had four A1Cs in one year, three were > 7% but one was ≤ 7% would that count?

and what do the authors mean by nephrotoxic agents? I don't know. They never state it in the paper. Hopefully useful drugs like RAS blockade, flozins, diuretics, antibiotics don't get stopped 🤦‍♂️ 5/5

Unless the TB jumped out of the CT scan and said “Boo! It’s Me!” I don’t want to see a microbiological diagnosis on an imaging report.
