Hull, MacInnis, Shanahan, Joseph, Fuhr, Pronger, Oates, Stevens, lots of solid depth players, etc.
The Blues had some GREAT teams in the 90s with elite talent, but they were just snake bitten in the playoffs.
They should have/could have had at least one cup then.

Rooting for your team to lose or tank is goofy. Always has been.
Embracing a losing culture is the worst. We'd turn into the Sabres. Draft high year after year and never get better.
You root for them to win, and then pivot to the draft picks at the end of the season.

@danreilly I wanted Parayko gone (they tried), Binnington gone, Kyrou flipped, Suter flipped, anyone outside of the core. Hard reset. Faulk and Schenn were a good start. Let some AHL guys finish out the season. Finish the year in contention for #1. Let yourself fall into McKenna or Stenberg

Almost every valuable player has an NTC for at least a portion of their contract.
It's a negotiating trade off to help keep the AAV down so they can have more cap space.
Unless they do away with NTC's in the next CBA (not happening), they're here to stay.

Players who play in St. Louis always seem to fall in love with St. Louis. Or, the St. Louis suburbs, I suppose. I won't say it's inexplicable, because that's mean and @jprutherford would be mad at me, but it's at least uncanny.

A lot of people say this BUT divisional playoffs done the right way (1v4 & 2v3, the way it used to be) PLUS more divisional games during the season, is what made the NHL great.
THAT is what created and fueled rivalries.
And heated rivalries make the NHL great.

The @NHL must revert to a 1-8 playoff system. Playing 82 games and then having two rounds of guaranteed divisional matchups is one of the dumbest formats in sports history. Where is Gary Bettman on this? Where is the leadership and common sense?

Also, the city and county's crime & pop stats aren't merged like most cities. So "St. Louis" on paper looks worse than it is.
