@RockChartrand All rights require labor and the resources of others. Your right to own your own property depends on the labor of the police to prevent others from taking it. Your right to vote depends on the labor of humans to make it all happen.

Nothing stops any country from declaring food a “right” internally. The push to universalize it isn’t about words, it’s about obligation. Calling food a right doesn’t create food. It creates a claim on someone else to produce and provide it. That shifts the issue from production to entitlement. Countries are happy to vote for "rights" that require resources they don’t have, then expect enforcement or funding to come from those who do. So the debate isn’t compassion vs indifference. It’s whether need alone creates a claim on others’ labor. If it does, it doesn’t stop at food. It becomes an open ended justification for taking from producers to satisfy any declared need. This communist idea is dependent on others to be looted to keep communist type failure and control alive.
