I've built a text adventure game engine on top of the C++ Standard. Why? I have no idea. But it's a learning tool with quests and time travel and artifacts and NPC's and XP and ... well, you just have to check it out! cppevo.dev/adventure

@twidderix Uns brauchen? Wofür? Diplomatisches Geschick? Manpower? Rohstoffe? Ingenieurskunst?

@lefticus I use threads mostly for my art and mastodon for programming topics. Of course, it doesn't work smoothly to separate the two topics. Still, I didn't leave X, because I didn't want to loose connection to other C++ I also met personally, especially at MeetingC++ in Berlin.

Is anybody on threads? Should I also be posting there?

@tsoding JS used to be a toy language but it has become a very serious one. It could be improved but it's honestly not bad at all. Arguing about programming languages is great for engagement but it's not a deep or important topic.

It's actually insane how much Engineering Effort was spent purely to remedy the fact that JavaScript is a Toy Scripting Language and not on Solving Actual Problems.

@BartoszMilewski Either way, the decision could turn out badly. But, from experience from the past, it’s rather a bluff, yet again. Serving him a drink is the first step of handing him over the whole bar.

This is an new scenario. A guy with a nuclear suicide vest walks into a bar threatening an apocalypse if he's not served a drink. Do we give him a drink hoping that he'll stop at that? Or do we call his bluff?

Does anybody use Perl anymore? What for? Did PHP and Python eat its lunch or did the Perl 6 schism do Perl in?
