Tipping culture is...problematic. I'm not saying $40 on this is too little or just right.
But let's be real for a second.
Effort doesn’t scale linearly with the bill.
On top of that, I shouldn't have to pay more because I purchased more.
I think tips should be given but we've turned a courtesy into a requirement.
And that has consequences in everything from how employers pay (or not pay) to how customers feel about their service.
If they made tips mandatory, it turns into a service fee, and restaurant owners don't want that smoke with the IRS.
No one wants that, but this shaming shit has got to stop.

Is this $200+ billion dollar “high-speed” rail a policy failure? Of course.
But if the goal was simply to commandeer tax dollars for distribution to politically-connected constituencies then I’d imagine those with that goal are probably quite pleased.

California high-speed rail cost now up to $231 billion. That means the average worker in the state will pay out over $12,000 to fund a single project that almost no one will ride. CA rail will be studied for generations, a truly once-in-a-lifetime level of government failure.

Property tax measure needs to be put on the ballot by the Legislature (which it will) and then needs to be passed by voters in November.

Driving manually is over. FSD is ready. Tesla CyberTruck just drove us from Austin to Wimberley through one of the craziest rainstorms I’ve ever seen. Visibility was brutal. I honestly did not feel safe driving. Meanwhile FSD handled it like nothing.

1. SpaceX intends to list its shares on the Nasdaq under ticker symbol $SPCX
2. SpaceX posted Q1 2026 revenue of $4.69 billion
3. Elon Musk will be CEO, CTO, and Chairman of the Board after the IPO
4. SpaceX holds $15.8 billion in cash as of March 31st
5. SpaceX is seeking to raise a record $80 billion in its IPO with an expected IPO date of June 12th
