has language ever evolved this fast.. ? i literally have to check urban dictionary like at least 10 times a day cuz i am totally lost at what some of these words actually mean.. like “ascension”, “slaymaxxing”, or “peak adam”, i mean entire micro dialects are spinning up overnight & maybe also decaying faster than ever. feels like every niche is minting its own vocabulary in real time. it’ll be interesting when llm’s actually start making words up & ppl just go with it. although maybe i’m just getting old. now get off my lawn.

Here is a super-interesting fact, and yet another reason we need to get to Mars. Trebuchets have EXACTLY THE SAME RANGE on Mars as they do on Earth (except for minor air friction effects), because the gravity affecting the shot also affects the counterweight. But catapults and ballistas have significantly increased range on Mars, because their mechanisms isn't based on gravity. Thus, when we are sieging a medieval castle on Mars, catapults & ballistas are correspondingly strengthened vis-a-vis trebuchets. But obviously we need to investigate this in person.
