@kimmie_c_ Knew some EMTs who would joke about "angel wings." I found out it was b/c a patient had a sports trophy stuck in there on account of the angel at the top had wings that went up & then folded back down creating a barb.

@TerribleMaps One of my two speeding tickets came at the tip of that blue zone near the VA/NC border. It's a designated speed trap where the limit goes from 65-45 in an instant with no obvious change in the road or surroundings.

It really is bizarre. Most of my friends don't have FSD (or a Tesla). And it is the single biggest lifestyle difference between us. They drive their cars. My car drives me. They don't get how much--even at its current capability-level--the product changes life-feel. FSD truly is a mass luxury product. That it is still so narrowly enjoyed is mind-bending.

@TheQuartering To “win” you have you have to have a goal. I have no clue what our end goal is? Regime change? Destruction of nuclear capabilities? It keeps changing by the day.

Every single poll shows the exact same numbers. GOP voters are holding strong for Trump. Independent voters have left him in droves. Guess which voter decides elections. Don’t do the “polls are all lying!” thing people do when the numbers don’t look good.

@ethanbeck352 @RedPillSayian The name calling is debatable, but I’m more concerned by the fact that you think he will realize “the truth.” Do you honestly believe that anything said or shown to him would cause him to change course now? (Outside of just paying him untold amounts of money)

@RedPillSayian I do not agree with Dan Bongino on really anything but this type of stuff is so useless. If your goal is for people to realize the truth and you think Dan Bongino is wrong in his assessment, how does name calling get you any closer to him realizing the truth?

@TheRealPDQ @rising_serpent So? It's not like Repubs have advanced any kind of agenda through Congress in the last 15mons. What makes you think they will do anything after the midterms?

@rising_serpent Trump has three years left in his term, and it is virtually impossible for the Dems to take over Congress in November as all of the Senate races are pretty much locks. The Dems might take the House, MIGHT, but the Repubs will still control the Senate and the White House...

I have the extreme misfortune of spending way too much time around liberal women. So let me tell you what's coming: -They're absolutely insane, hate Trump, all straight white men and think blacks and minorities can do no wrong and when they do, it is always whitey's fault. Of course, many of these women are white themselves -They've spent the greater part of the last decade being promoted to positions of significant power, and in turn have promoted others just like them. This is precisely why all public and private policy feels so horrendously feminized, detached from reality and made by some stunted woman child/ school marm -The net effect is that controlling bureaucracy at many institutions and organizations is over 70% women and in some cases nearly 100%. -This is why no matter what happens, the flow of crazy seems relentless -As we speak, girl bosses are hiring foreigners from countries no sane person should. They're celebrating the holidays of these people, creating a whole new set of rules to make them feel "welcome" and before you say that's not possible, guess who runs human resources in every single institution? -When we lose the midterms, and later the presidency, expect everything to become a hundred or maybe a thousand times worse. Your culture, your legacy is already being stabbed to death now. It'll be buried under the rubble of "multiculturalism" before you can blink. -Any hope that the new administration would remedy the existential threat posed by a rising gynocracy has now vanished. They are too focused abroad. But the call is coming from inside the house. Always was. If you think any of this is hyperbole or exaggeration, trust me on this: you are not prepared for what's coming and how fast it'll happen.

@SelbJim @rising_serpent And will likely lose the midterms...meaning he spends the next 2 yrs fighting impeachment charges & whatever else dreamt up. This will basically bring his agenda to a screeching halt. Then who knows what happens in 2028.

@9mmsmg I still remember when they were the devil. My hometown in the 80s had at least 6 different local video stores including my favorite, which doubled as an ice cream parlor run by a morning radio DJ. Blockbuster moved in & killed then all but the 1 that focused on porn.

Every generation has fond nostalgia of something from their childhood. If you asked a group of 90s kids, I'm sure many of us would answer Blockbuster. Seeing the blue and gold sign in a photo automatically triggers something and we are immediately transported through time and remember going there with our parents and being excited about what we were going to rent. There was nothing inherently special about the place. They rented movies and video games for a reasonable price. Any time a new movie was released, you'd see a wall of display cases with no copies behind them. Every copy had been rented. You'd pivot to your 2nd place choice and find a copy, pay a small fee and then rent it. You'd bug your parents for some candy at the counter, because what fun is a movie experience without candy? Hell, I even remember playing an NBA Jam video game competition there as a kid. Everything about it was wildly inconvenient compared to now. With a click or two you can watch anything you want, on demand. You can even avoid going to the theater a lot of the time and stream movies playing in the theater. When we look at our current system of having entertainment at the touch of our fingertips, anything we want, whenever we want, Blockbuster seems tremendously archaic. That's because it is. If you took that away from us now, very few would be happy about it. But why is it so nostalgic? People have nostalgia for a lot if reasons we reminisce of a time that was better. A time when things were easier, a time where everyone we knew was alive still. We like remembering a time before adulthood when life was stress free. With Blockbuster, we simply miss the experience. It got you out if the house. Maybe you'd grab dinner with your parents first. You'd talk about what everyone wanted to see. You'd talk about what candy you were going to buy. You'd get there and see the movie you wanted was gone, but then maybe your dad would see an in stock copy hiding away behind one of the displays. Maybe he'd ask the clerk if there were any returned copies they hadn't restocked. Sometimes you'd end up winning. The experience made it special. The process seems ridiculous to people who grew up with Netflix and streaming. It seems like such a hassle. It was. Like all nostalgic things, we think about a time that was less convenient. A time where we got out of the house and did things. A time where even something small like renting a popular movie was a victory. We simply appreciated things more than we do now. From the little to the big.
