Rare non-joke post: I was military for 22 years, worked a few jobs for a short time since (never a good fit), and been living the retired life for the last year or so. I’m going to meet a guy this morning at his shop about working with him at his one man custom cabinet shop. Seems right up my alley, like I might actually really enjoy that type of thing. Not asking for prayers or good luck wishes or anything… just sharing.

@John_Cyrano Even then you don’t need a random roll. You can say something like “each resurrection costs 1 CON” or “you can only be brought back from the dead 7 times.” But 98% just makes you feel like an asshole if you roll the magic 99-00.

This raises the question of why 98%? Why not just make it an automatic success? What’s the advantage?

They haven't actually clarified anything. Not what the book is going to be like, whether it is actually being made and produced by the design team of WotC (which will be terrible) or just being kind of licensed out. I was at a convention once and the GM was setting up and frantically realized he hadn't put an X Card out... so he quickly scrawled on an a 3x5 and put it in the middle of the table. then realizing my end of the table didn't have an equal distance to it, he moved it closer. I said.... "don't worry about it dude... there isn't a single thing you can do that will make me touch that card" I had two buddies with me... one tried to hold in a spit take.... the other (a leftist) got upset and at the end of the game told me I couldn't say that... I said. that's retarded. he then tried to connivence me I made it impossible for anyone to touch the X card cause of my statement. I told him that if they were that much of a pussy that they couldn't hit the I'm a pussy button then maybe they should find another hobby.

And now WotC has trigger warnings and X cards.
