@HighwaysSWEST i appreciate this is a complex situation but we've been stationary for 3+ hours at this point, with young kids, no water and no toilet. Traffic vehicles are passing westwards but not coming back?

The #M4 in #Wiltshire remains closed in both directions between J16 #Swindon-J17 #Chippenham due to a collision.
Traffic caught within the closure westbound is being released via rear of the queue.
Delays of up to 60 minutes on the approach.

@HighwaysSWEST Thanks for the response Jamie. Any clarity on what's happening now? We're still stuck, no clarification on a potential opening westwards or of an exit eastwards

@cyn0p Hi, unfortunately we're unable to reopen the road at this time as the air ambulance is on scene. Wiltshire Police are leading the response, we can only reopen the road once we receive confirmation from them. Until then, the road will remain closed.

@Samfr Sam, if the Tory party survived 1997 then why do the predictions for 4/7 signal an existential threat? Their numbers are not worse than 1997 & we have other examples (e.g. PASOK/New Democracy in Greece) where a near wipeout translated to a 10year break before returning to power
