Bodycam footage has been released of Miami deputies serving a warrant for Cristian Barata (25) who was suspected of distributing child pornography. As the cops breached the door, women and children came out and Cristian's brother, Christopher (21), came out of his room with a Sig Sauer P365XL wearing a Streamlight TLR-7 HL-X & a Vortex Defender red dot optic at the low ready position. Police opened fire on Christopher, killing him. Both brothers were TSA agents. FDLE is investigating the shooting incident which certainly isn't a black and white use of force like we normally see. Christopher doesn't appear to raise his firearm before being shot and being armed in your house isn't a crime; especially in south Florida where criminals have a long history of breaking into homes whilst announcing "police or policia!!!" At 5am giving commands for about 2 minutes not sure about you but are spry enough to respond to waking up to hearing your family scream as if they were being attacking and not grab a weapon. Watch the video officers are actively walking up to the door announcing themselves and 1 minute later a man is dead. The officers also lied to the sheriff and said they asked him to drop his weapon before shooting, you don’t lie if you thought it was the right thing to do.

If police are executing a warrant from a US court, identifying themselves loudly, wearing uniforms... regardless of your right to bear arms, I recommend you put your weapon down. You don't have to raise it to be a threat. Just the perception of intent to cause great bodily harm is enough.

This all happened in under a minute they had only been there for a minute or two prior announcing themselves so in about 2 minutes they went from announcing themselves to shooting a man at 5am the people are groggy probably have no idea what the fuck is going on. Not sure about you but if I’m woken from a dead sleep to people screaming I doubt he knew it was police and I can’t say I would have either. Not to mention the officers got caught lying they told the police chief they asked him to drop his weapon before shooting and this video proves that never happened. You don’t lie if you don’t think you didnt fuck up.

@Mrgunsngear I agree with law enforcement’s assessment in this matter. The officers clearly identified themselves and were visibly present. Under those circumstances, introducing a firearm was profoundly reckless and demonstrated an alarming lack of judgment and regard for human life.

The day the Affordable Care Act passed was one of my proudest moments as president, because it meant that millions of Americans would have access to health care, some for the first time. The ACA also prevented insurance companies from denying people with pre-existing conditions coverage, allowed young people under the age of 26 to remain on their parents’ plan, expanded Medicaid, and so much more. But the ACA was always meant to be a first step. We still have to do more to expand access and make health care more affordable for everyone.
