A bizarre and disturbing incident has surfaced from #Bengaluru, where a family allegedly attempted to “courier” an elderly man as part of a social media #reel, prompting police intervention. The incident took place at a courier service office under #Vyalikaval police station limits. According to sources, five family members arrived at the outlet carrying a large package and refused to disclose its contents when questioned, raising suspicion among staff. Upon opening it, employees were shocked to find an elderly man inside a sack. During questioning, the family reportedly told police that the act was staged for a social media reel aimed at highlighting the shortage of bus tickets during the festive season around #Ugadi and #Ramzan. They claimed the idea was to depict that “couriering a person” had become the only option left for travel. Even after being stopped, the family allegedly argued with courier staff, insisting the package be accepted as they had already made the effort, further escalating concerns over their actions.

BMTC has started replacing the static QR codes (stuck everywhere inside the bus) based payments with dynamic payments within POS/ETM machine
When conductor enters the destination, a QR code gets generated with the amount.
Passengers need to just scan and pay!

The QR ticket can be scanned by Conductor's hand-held device to validate & make it un-usable for another trip. Passenger can board any bus in that route w/this ticket for 1-time. Bangalore’s underpasses or the magic boxes as they call it are notoriously small and tiny. Wonder how BBMP engineers even designed it at the first place.

@maxmelbin @nagarjund It was brainchild of then BBMP Commissioner Mr Subramanya (2008) & ₹1.65 CR was spent. Constructed in Feb '08 whereas DPR was sent to Govt for approval in May '08.
IISc was not involved in this project.

@nagarjund Remember, it was IISC intervention. Thry said they will install it in 7 hours , then 7 days and then months . overhyped professors from IISC ruined that stretch. Useless fellows.

The key issue is lack of will to implement basics by the Security staff Starts with no Q system to board & People taking office meetings in speaker mode, Talking loudly on phone, Offer empty seat to person who was standing earlier one boarded

Mumbai has this iconic clock at the CSMT (earlier Victoria Terminus). This clock is ticking since 1888. Until very recently, commuters used to set their watches by this historic timekeeper of Mumbai.
Titan gave a tribute to this clock by making a wrist watch with that same dial.
