If you don't know, Friz was one of the animators who left Disney and went over to Charles Mintz's studio in 1929, forcing Disney to start over.

I remember learning this during a talk from some industry professionals gave at my animation college. Blew my mind to think that Nick thought this would be “the next Rugrats“ and SpongeBob completely surpassed them both after so few of the higher-ups even believed in it.
