Was able to confirm 2 more new Verizon sites that were built over the 2025 summer with new aerial imagery released from the fall. More to come this year! @holman1124

@melanatedtimo @holman1124 That's a Verizon site on top of an apartment building with mmWave/midband, matsing panels on 2/3 sectors. Other carriers are on the building next to it with just midband. Memphis, Jonesboro, Paducah, Paragould... some of our high-resolution models are hinting at the potential for a few discrete rotating supercells AHEAD of our squall line.
This risk will be maximized near the Mississippi River.
If this occurs, increasing risk of isolated significant tornado.

Snow creeping closer to Albany but still a couple hours to go. Nice 200mile snow band ripping from NJ, NYC, to CT.

@dan45643 Under 72 hrs you almost never want to use the EURO or GFS....those are long range models with bad detail resolution you need like the NAM and HRRR and others like the RAP have. I think the issues we are seeing of concern is a subtle SE slide in the snow away from Albany. :|

Some time if anyone around Albany got a question to fire away. Still on the overnight shift then going to bed later.
I will say this...timing is trending to be 10p-1pm for the storm but overnight from 1a-9am is the power peak for Albany. May see a good band over the Berkshires.

ALBANY GANG! HOW WE FEELING TONIGHT/TOMORROW FOR THIS STORM!? My ass gonna film this likely all night...and hopefully don't get called in but if i do...filming it there then. Regardless of I-95 or Albany, this will be a wet and dense ass snow compared to the one 3 weeks ago.

STRICTLY TALKING ABOUT ALBANY NOW...and man we are on the god damn edge of this likely once a 10-20 storm. NWS is not yet pushing us into watches but the snow trends keep going up and up.
I mean look at their latest ideas...it's similar to the NAM output. We are SO CLOSE!

Well I think it's time to talk about the bomb Nor'easter that will really absolutely crush the entire Northeast I-95 sector from D.C. to Boston. Been like 4 years since the NYC region has had Blizzard Warnings for a storm and this will pack some huge snows and wind for sure.

Albany already has more snowfall this season to date through Jan 26 (44.5") compared to all of last season (43.9"). The last time ALB had an above normal snowfall season was the 2017-18 winter. Normal snowfall for the entire season is 59.0" so this season in on pace to be above.

Snow rates has cratered and barely holding 8" in Western Albany. This snow is falling almost like sugar. Very icy texture to it. Prepping for overnight shift...debating walking the jist over mile or taking the car.

Ok so just shoveled round 2 and checked in snow totals...we have really started to grind back to 1"hr rate or less in Albany. The snow is small particle texture and almost fine icy too in nature. We are just too dry aloft.
