@nomad421 Having done... some... work in this area. :P I can't say I have found the solution to convincing folks this is important. We personally took, I mean I guess its still a data-dependent manner, but was results data driven. If you figure out how to drive it home, would love to know.

Data dependent estimation also isn’t always possible. In such a case, how should careful developers best guide users to best practices and thinking about critical params? Are loud warnings sufficient? If not, what else might one suggest? 3/3

Important 🧵. When a tool has a critical parameter, ppl often use the default without much thought (even if the parameter is documented in detail). One strategy to force thought is to provide no default. Even that isn’t sufficient to guide users to best practices all the time. 1/

@Tesla feature suggestion: would love to see a dog mode for locks/windows/seatbelts so when the dog is there he can’t open any thing but when people are there people aren’t locked in. Something like car wash mode (but maybe easier to get to).

@JasonWilliamsNY Not in my experience. I picked up my second Model 3 in November. No major problems in 3 years with my first one other than a dead 12V battery, and a couple flat tires (thats common in El Paso I think). Done 3 drives from here to Florida as well without incident.

@Tesla 3hrs after delivery my model s is unusable. Really don’t understand how a new car dies the same day. Missed my flight, left my family stranded. Still no call or update from your service center or anyone at your company. @elonmusk is this the new Tesla owners get service?
