Im surprised more people aren’t talking about just how atrocious this scene is in the Odyssey. Nolan took a part of the story about savage giants who throw boulders at and eat Odysseus’s crew and changed them to be weird 12ft tall medieval knights or something.

It would've been cool to have the Sea Peoples be another, existential threat in the film.
For context, the Sea Peoples obliterated all manner of Bronze Age civilations except 2. They were a truly immense force, not just a few dudes on three boats.
Trying to make Odysseus and his men the "Sea People" is incredibly stupid.

Took the SL from Dulles to New Carrollton yesterday, and the amount of value-capture WMATA's leaving on the table by maintaining empty parking lots at most every station in MD & VA is legit the reason ppl think expanding service is only attainable via fantasy maps like this.

Reminder that Democrats subsidize rural regions (bad) via hospitals, broadband internet access, infrastructure, etc. Rural people turn around and consistently vote Republican.
If Democrats stopped frivolously spending, there’d be increased economic pressure to concentrate in urban areas, thus helping democrats’ political prospects. Maybe one of the worst political strategies from Dems, more on this in a substack soon!
