A “security threat” was declared at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus shortly before midnight on Sunday. Personnel at the base were told of the threat, and instructed to “return to your homes and stay inside until further notice,” additionally being told to “move away from windows and take cover behind or beneath substantial, solid furniture,” and to await further instruction, sources tell the Cyprus Mail.

‼️‼️🚀 Updates on Tomahawk missiles:
🇺🇸🇺🇦🚀 How quiet pressure is unfolding over supplying Ukraine with America’s longest-range missiles — Kyiv Post.
At the center of this initiative is Dan Rice, President of the American University in Kyiv and former special adviser to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This week, Rice held a face-to-face meeting with U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, which Rice described as a “broad and comprehensive discussion” covering both the war and his personal experience in Ukraine.
Rice, who previously played a significant behind-the-scenes role in securing U.S. approval for the transfer of cluster munitions and ATACMS ballistic missiles to Ukraine, now argues that the time has come for a far bolder step: transferring a small, undisclosed number of ground-launched Tomahawk cruise missiles, capable of striking deep inside Russian territory.
What he has disclosed is particularly notable: Rice directly asked Hegseth to provide Tomahawks even in a “limited, undisclosed quantity.” According to Rice, he is making the same request to every relevant official he meets in Washington.

Venezuela disillusioned with Moscow: Russia labelled a “paper tiger”
Venezuelan officials believe the security alliance with Russia turned out to be a fiction, Bloomberg reports.
Caracas expected Moscow to help protect Nicolás Maduro, but received no support during the US operation.
According to the agency, Russian and Cuban intelligence failed to warn of the threat. S-300 and Buk air defence systems proved useless without proper technical support, and cyber defences collapsed — the US was able to cut electricity in parts of Caracas ahead of Maduro’s capture.
This has severely undermined trust in Moscow and Havana. Maduro’s successor, Delcy Rodríguez, according to Bloomberg, is left with only one realistic option — accept the US offer and weaken ties with Russia and Cuba.
Sources say the Kremlin was irritated by the US operation but acknowledged that relations with Washington now matter more to Moscow than Caracas. The capture of Maduro was described as “unpleasant, but not a catastrophe”.
Donald Trump had previously publicly called Russia a “paper tiger”. The Kremlin responded by saying Russia is a “bear”. But judging by Venezuela’s reaction, even its allies no longer seem to believe that.

The Legendary F-117 Nighthawk First Went To War 36 Years Ago Today
With clear parallels to the U.S. standoff with Venezuela today, it's worth remembering the F-117's combat debut over Panama in 1989.

This tells you everything you need to know about the state of the Kremlin right now. When a foreign minister who has stood beside Putin for twenty years suddenly gets pushed out after one phone call, that is not normal. That is what a system looks like when it starts to crack under its own pressure.
If Lavrov really got sidelined after being dismissed by Secretary of State Rubio, it means Putin did not get the answer he wanted and someone had to pay for it.
And honestly, we all know what happens to people who fall out of Putin’s favor. They disappear quietly, they “retire,” they get reassigned to nowhere, or they end up having strange accidents. Lavrov has been protected for a long time, but nobody is safe in that environment once the blame game starts.
This is what fear driven leadership looks like. It is unstable. It is desperate. And while they fight each other inside the Kremlin, Ukraine keeps fighting for survival and continues to stand strong.
Glory to Ukraine. Glory to the heroes. 🇺🇦

@Fzed015 @steven_pifer @NewRulesGeo Isn’t it funny how the Taliban only came out of their caves once we left? We tried to teach a country of backwards savages how to be civilized. We got tired of it and left. The Taliban sure as hell didn’t militarily defeat us.

The myth of American air invincibility was shattered by old Soviet tech:
❌ F-16 lost to a 1950s SA-2 (1991 Gulf War)
❌ "Invisible" F-117 shot down by a 1960s SA-3 (1999 Bombing of Yugoslavia)
Now imagine what Venezuela's modern S-300 could do.
NewRulesGeopolitics@NewRulesGeo
🚨Could Venezuela's air defenses actually stop a US air strike? Venezuela's airspace is protected by a layered network of Russian S-300s, mobile Buks, and 5,000+ shoulder-fired missiles. Here's how it could complicate the Trump admin's plans👇

@sentdefender Its a shame that tomorrow there are no news agencies in the white house to see the yelling of you dont hold the card 2.0 . 😔

@visegrad24 How will the missiles be deployed? I believe the USA only uses ship based launch platforms (willing to be corrected)
Are they supplying a means to fire the missile too?

The U.S. War Department has already developed plans to sell or transfer Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine
The New York Times reports that the plans were drawn up in case Trump gives the order to supply the missiles to Kyiv.
"It is unclear how many missiles the U.S. could provide, how Ukraine would store them safely, and what impact the limited number of Tomahawks would have on the situation," the report notes.
Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said today that if Tomahawks are supplied to Ukraine, it would constitute a "very serious escalation" between Russia and the U.S.

@Common_Sense_91 @visegrad24 they showed a system just like himars for tomahawks yesterday .
