Astonishing statement from General Carsten Breuer, chief of the German defence staff. "Germany no longer regards the USA as a reliable defence partner. We are assuming conflict with Russia in the next few years is inevitable, we are re-arming.

Tbh, the strangest thing about this whole mess is the fact that Iran has managed to close Hormuz AND continue to export oil, and the only substantive US response has been to relax sanctions on Iran, allowing it to make more money than it has in years.
Shashank Joshi@shashj

Absolutely remarkable. "Iran is now earning nearly twice as much from oil sales each day as it did before American and Israeli bombs started falling on February 28th. It may be pummelled on the battlefield, but the regime is winning the energy war." economist.com/finance-and-ec…

A Reuters review of trading ahead of major Trump administration decisions on tariffs, Venezuela and Iran that led to significant market moves showed at least four instances where the legal experts said it appeared investors knew what would happen shortly before it did.
Idrees Ali@idreesali114

NEW YORK, March 29 (Reuters) - Well-timed trades ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump's major policy surprises during his second term have potentially led to millions of dollars in profits for unknown traders, leading some legal experts to say they should be investigated.

Anyone following the war closely knows that the Chinese have been publishing detailed analyses and assessments of American assets at U.S. bases in the region, and this has been going on for at least the past two months.

The goaltending doesn’t flat-out stink. But it allows too many goals. Never steals a game. Dallas’ third and fourth goals were in the center of the net. Call up Murashov.

Some Pens thoughts: Karlsson is so over-the-top good. Goaltending is killing then. Too many pens, but officiating is ***king them to death. Monday night at NYI = must-win.

@BigFish3000 Nice try. I took the Amtrak home. We tried to pay TSA almost a dozen times and Republicans said no every time. Then the GOP Speaker closed session last night and sent everyone home. Please Google what party is in charge of Congress right now. The answer may surprise you!

Zelenskyy told reporters in a video briefing that this morning, he was “briefed that U.S. military facilities in the Middle East and the Gulf region were photographed by Russian satellites in the interests of Iran. “On March 24th, they imaged the U.S.–UK joint military facility on Diego Garcia located in the Chagos Archipelago in the Indian Ocean. They also captured pictures of Kuwait International Airport and parts of the infrastructure of the Greater Burgan oil field. On March 25th, they took pictures of the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. The Shaybah oil and gas field in Saudi Arabia, İncirlik Air Base in Türkiye, and Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar were all imaged on March 26th.”
Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський@ZelenskyyUa

When I travel outside of Ukraine, I get daily intelligence updates online. This morning, I was briefed that U.S. military facilities in the Middle East and the Gulf region were photographed by Russian satellites in the interests of Iran. On March 24th, they imaged the U.S.–UK joint military facility on Diego Garcia located in the Chagos Archipelago in the Indian Ocean. They also captured pictures of Kuwait International Airport and parts of the infrastructure of the Greater Burgan oil field. On March 25th, they took pictures of the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. The Shaybah oil and gas field in Saudi Arabia, İncirlik Air Base in Türkiye, and Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar were all imaged on March 26th. There are no Ukrainian facilities on this list. But who is helping whom when sanctions are lifted from an aggressor that earns daily revenue and provides intelligence for strikes against American, Middle Eastern, UK, and U.S.–UK bases and so on? When surveillance is carried out over facilities in Ukraine, we always understand that they must be protected, since plans are in motion to destroy them – energy and water infrastructure, military facilities, and so on. Everyone knows that repeated reconnaissance indicates preparations for strikes. How can sanctions be eased if this is what the Russians are doing? There must be pressure on the aggressor. And lifting sanctions is certainly not pressure. It looks strange. Sanctions are being lifted, while the aggressor is providing intelligence to strike facilities, including those of the countries that are discussing or have already lifted sanctions. From my conversation with journalists (3/3).

Just as in Gaza, the US is lifting the constraints on how Israel can use American bombs. As a result, Israel uses 2,000lb bombs to strike densely populated areas in Tehran. So, we are now seeing Gaza-style images of civilians and children being killed en masse in Iran.

As MAGA Mike Johnson and House Republicans kill the shutdown deal, I remember what PJ O’Rourke, conservative Cato Institute fellow, author, and right-wing satirist, said about Republicans: “Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work and then they get elected and prove it.” #WeSayNoKings
