Newsletters are awesome. I read a lot of them. @genmon writes a legendary one. Still one of the best ways to build a community. So we’ve started one @inanimate_tech called Lab Notes. 📨 Subscribe > news.inanimate.tech/subscribe 🧪 Lab Notes is a record of our work as we build and ship Inanimate. It’s an update on what we are working on, plus what influences, informs, and inspires us. We’re starting off with a classic format. A done list + likes and links. Come with us, as we build a British Sony for the AI Era!

Software for Agents @aaron_epstein The next trillion users on the internet won't be people. They'll be AI agents, and they're already doing real work on top of software that was designed for humans clicking buttons. Every major category of software needs to be rebuilt for agents as first-class citizens, and that won't come from incumbents.

My social feeds are filled with devices people have built as extensions of Claude Code. I’m talking... ✴️Token monitors... @kelp_feeder (x.com/kelp_feeder/st…) ✴️Desk pets... @felixrieseberg (x.com/felixrieseberg…) ✴️Jumping things... @BenJames_____ (x.com/BenJames_____/…) ✴️Status lamps... @bobek_balinek (x.com/bobek_balinek/…) ✴️Reanimated Furbys... @maddiedreese (x.com/maddiedreese/s…) ✴️Traffic Guy... @genmon (x.com/genmon/status/…) All open source. All using ESP32 chips (I think). What is going on here? I think this is the early sign of something big. People want to go beyond their laptops. They want their experience of working with an agent to be richer, more personal, and more embodied than a QWERTY keyboard. People are tired of “staring at grey boxes” and want to be “validated through personalisation”, as @jordanrcrook shared with me this week. They want an experience of work that feels more natural, more messy, more fun, more human. We might be entering an era of Personal Hardware.

Hi! I'm here with *another launch*, it just happens to be extremely niche, nerdy, and probably only for a handful of people. In the desktop app, Claude Cowork and Code now have a little Bluetooth API for makers & developers, allowing you to build hardware devices that interact with Claude. I, for instance, built a little desk pet that alerts me whenever Claude is waiting for permission.
