Big news! I just found out I've been promoted to Research Fellow! I can't believe it! The progression path for researchers in academia is so unclear that I never thought it would be possible. What with being permanent too, other unis could really learn from the @OpenUniversity!

@WFarahslt @ian_cushing I came from an incredibly rich-in-language home which was also low-income. I’m sure there are others who came from higher income homes that were ‘poorer’ linguistically than my own. Whatever that means 🤷🏻♀️

In this new report on international perspectives on early years education (gov.uk/government/pub……), Ofsted continue in its track record of subscribing to a deficit perception of low-income families, here describing them as 'not having language-rich home environments'.
