🔴 Eni has pressed charges against @atricarico72 of ReCommon for defamation in relation to statements he made during the RAI programme @reportrai3 on air last 5th of May. The accusation against Tricarico appears to be yet another attempt to silence an uncomfortable voice, which also follows the recent lawsuit that Eni has filed against ReCommon and @Greenpeace_ITA. During the tv programme, Tricarico had highlighted the overlap in the timing of Eni's awarding of the licence to develop the Zohr gas field in 🇪🇬 and the dramatic Regeni affair. A fact-based assertion, which was widely supported again in RAI programme Report on 17th of November, in which confidential Eni documents reiterated Tricarico's assertion. 👇 recommon.org/en/eni-denounc…
