Today, together with Austria's Federal Minister for European and International Affairs @BMeinl, we signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. We see strong potential for both short- and long-term projects. Expanding cooperation will enhance partners’ energy security through diversification of supply routes, while Austrian investment in hydropower and wind energy will strengthen Ukraine’s resilience ⚡️ We also agreed to hold a major conference in Vienna focused on Ukraine’s energy recovery and reconstruction — to mobilise partners for reconstruction, modernisation, and investment in the sector. We discussed Ukraine’s urgent energy needs ahead of next winter. The priority is emergency recovery and the supply of critical equipment — especially transformers. We are grateful to Austria for its support: Ukraine has already received over 159 tonnes of equipment, as well as €15.5 million contributed to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. These resources have helped procure equipment for Kharkiv, Sumy, and Kyiv regions. We invited Austrian partners to actively engage with the Ukraine Energy Coordinating Group (#EnergyRamstein). У розвиток зазначених ініціатив домовились про проведення великої конференції у Відні, присвяченої відбудові та відновленню енергетичного сектору України. Наша мета – залучення партнерів до проєктів з реконструкції, модернізації та інвестицій в енергетичний сектор України. Обговорили конкретні потреби української енергетики у контексті підготовки до наступної зими. Ключове – ​​аварійне відновлення та постачання критично важливого устаткування. Серед нагальних потреб – трансформатори. Подякував Австрії за вже надану допомогу. Україна отримала понад 159 тонн обладнання, а також внесок до Фонду підтримки енергетики України в 15,5 млн євро. Ці кошти дозволили закупити обладнання для Харківської, Сумської та Київської областей. Запросив австрійських партнерів активно долучитися до формату співпраці у межах «Енергетичного Рамштайну». Дякую пані Майнль-Райзінгер за послідовну підтримку України і готовність поглиблювати співпрацю!

40 years after the #Chornobyl catastrophe, Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s nuclear energy infrastructure once again pose a grave threat to nuclear safety. We call on Russia to immediately stop these attacks and fully cooperate with @iaeaorg.

Great meeting with @BMeinl in Antalya. I thanked Austria for its support for Ukraine, including the recent decision to join the work to launch the Special Tribunal. We discussed the outcomes of elections in Hungary and their implications for Europe’s unity and strength. We both agreed that the 20th EU sanctions package, €90 billion loan, and Ukraine’s EU accession must be unblocked as soon as possible. We also spoke about the situation in the Middle East and the need for sooner stabilisation. I informed my Austrian colleague about the battlefield situation, the prospects of peace efforts, and our remarkable defense industry achievements.

Austria has officially notified @coe of its willingness to join the Enlarged Partial Agreement on the Special Tribunal’s Management Committee. I am grateful to Austria and my colleague @BMeinl for once again proving that neutrality does not mean indifference. To the contrary, accountability is critical to ensure a lasting peace on our continent. Austria’s decision brings the total number of countries willing to participate in the Tribunal to 20, including 19 member states of the Council of Europe. Each new participant cements the truth: justice for the crime of aggression against Ukraine is inevitable. This historic accountability effort strengthens our positions and worldwide respect for international law.

Today, Austria joined the Enlarged Partial Agreement (EPA) of the Special Tribunal on the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine. #Accountability is a key trajectory of Austria’s foreign policy. There can be no lasting peace in Ukraine without accountability.

The world calls for Easter peace. Ukraine proposes a weekend ceasefire — yet Russia responds with unprecedented attacks on cities, causing civilian casualties. This war must stop. We urge Russia to engage in meaningful talks and agree to a full, unconditional ceasefire.

Ukraine and Austria will strengthen cooperation in the field of renewable hydrogen. A corresponding Memorandum was signed today in Kyiv with the Austrian Federal Minister for Economy, Energy and Tourism @hattmannsdorfer. The document envisages the development of hydrogen production, the creation of infrastructure for storage and transportation, and the attraction of investment in this sector. ______ Україна та Австрія будуть розвивати співпрацю у сфері відновлювального водню. Відповідний Меморандум підписали сьогодні у Києві з Федеральним міністром економіки, енергетики та туризму Австрії Вольфгангом Гаттманнсдорфером. Today we mark the fourth anniversary of Russia’s unjustified war of aggression against Ukraine and its people. Austria will continue to #StandWithUkraine.

Today, we are entering the fifth year of Russia‘s unjustified war of aggression against #Ukraine and its people. It is our common responsibility to support Ukraine until #Russia finally ends these brutal attacks, ends this unjustified war, ends this horrible killing.

We had a meaningful discussion with @BMeinl today. I informed my Austrian colleague about the battlefield situation, energy damage, and peace efforts. We discussed steps to advance our bilateral cooperation and expand trade and business cooperation, including in the context of Ukraine’s recovery. We welcome the engagement of Austrian businesses now and in the future. We also spoke about regional and European developments, Ukraine’s EU accession, and EU sanctions pressure on Russia to counter its aggression and terror. I am grateful to Beate for her clarity, realism, and value-based approach. Beate and I paid separate attention to our cooperation within international organizations, major upcoming events and contacts, and accountability efforts. Ukraine appreciates Austria’s comprehensive support, including energy assistance, at all levels: from the federal government to lands, communities, and all Austrians. Austria proves that neutrality does not mean indifference.

Austria remains a reliable partner of Ukraine, and we are sincerely grateful for all the support provided, which has already exceeded €350 million. During a meeting in Vienna with the President of the National Council of the Republic of Austria, Walter Rosenkranz, we discussed the security situation and the consequences of russian attacks. russia is deliberately destroying energy infrastructure and using cold as a tool of pressure, trying to make living conditions for Ukrainians unbearable. I received assurances of continued support from Austria and its parliament. I reaffirmed that Ukraine is open to effective negotiations, but our red lines remain unchanged — territorial integrity, sovereignty, independence, and the right to determine our own path. We also addressed the issue of abducted Ukrainian children and agreed to strengthen joint efforts in this direction. In addition, we discussed humanitarian projects — the reconstruction of Ukrainian schools and kindergartens as a concrete expression of solidarity from the Austrian people with Ukraine.

Yet again, #Russia has launched heavy attacks against Ukraine‘s energy infrastructure to break the civilian population‘s morale. We once again call on Russia to stop the war and engage earnestly in peace negotiations. (1/2)

I assured him of our commitment to a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace that guarantees the interests of Ukraine as well as our own security. With the fourth anniversary of the brutal war of aggression approaching, we have allocated an additional €3 million to support the Ukrainian people suffering from massive Russian strikes. During a conversation with Federal Chancellor of Austria @_CStocker, we discussed the energy situation in Ukraine. Russia strikes energy infrastructure every day to leave Ukrainians without electricity and heat, and it is very important that partners respond to this. That is why we highly appreciate Austria’s decision last week to allocate funds to support our energy sector. Thank you! We also discussed other ways to support our energy system. I also informed the Chancellor about the trilateral meetings of the Ukrainian, American, and Russian delegations that took place in the UAE last week. The parties primarily discussed military issues, but they also talked about security guarantees. Ukraine’s accession to the European Union is one of the key security guarantees not only for us, but also for all of Europe. After all, Europe’s collective strength is possible, in particular, thanks to Ukraine’s security, technological, and economic contributions. That is why we are speaking about a concrete date – 2027 – and we count on partners’ support for our position. I invited the Chancellor to visit Ukraine so that we can continue our dialogue in person. Thank you!
