My favourite cafe (and bar) is contemporary art deco and I mostly go there for the decor if I'm honest

Not 100% success but drastic improvement nonetheless, something to genuinely be proud of

Childhood cancer is, slowly but surely, being made less and less common.

@lucklepper They should build some of those small formats.

@MDC12345678 The amount of money that could be saved by tackling the energy policy problem is stupendous (eye watering). There’s a fundamental business pathology with renewables and that’s that the price always falls. Turns the mix into revenue / incentive problem.

@gamecounsel @chaward Yes & yes. It’s incredibly easy to eat inexpensively. Well had something a little more extravagant tonight. But in general even a few red lentils + turmeric, a dash of Tabasco and a nice piece of bread will work. Tonight

English

@gamecounsel @chaward Really easy, just marinade the chicken in soy sauce, garlic, ginger, chilli 🌶 flakes, fire up the wok and add the vegetables half way through. Serve with noodles.

@chaward People relying on pre-prepared food is a 1st world problem. Since I was a teen, I interpreted 'the meek shall inherit the earth' as 'only people who know how to live simply & frugally will survive'. I'm proud that my parents taught me how to be frugal.

@danielsnotebook Share price bump is because GRIF is subject to a hostile takeover bid from Victoria Property Holdings / Martin Property Group: martin-group.co.uk/wp-content/upl…

Very welcome news.
The issue with FirstPort (more LastPort) is cultural. It was apparent when I cross-examined them during our FTT dispute that FirstPort senior management simply do not care about the service they provide. They have no concept of fiduciary duty; what it means to be responsible for leaseholder money.
Their principal aim is to buy up as many smaller manging agents as possible and to take as much from leaseholders as possible to service their colossal corporate debts.
Until that culture changes -- which is in part to be achieved by rebalancing the law in favour of leaseholders -- nothing else will change.
David Pinto-Duschinsky MP@DavidPintoD
Leaseholders in Hendon are being made to feel like cash cows by managing agents who hike service charges but provide poor service in return. FirstPort are the country’s largest management agent, and one of the worst offenders. Today, I chaired a meeting between dozens of Labour MPs and the Managing Director of FirstPort to hold their feet to the fire and demand they change 👇
