@Gfilche @Waymo @robotaxi Gali, what is Waymo’s path to profitability? With the data we have now, can we project how many rides they’ll have to do per week to be profitable? Maybe there are too many unknowns like how do costs scale as they scale up their fleet.

📈 @Waymo is growing like crazy 500,000 rides per week, doubling in just 11 months At a ~$500M revenue run-rate 💵 When does @Robotaxi catchup? ⚡️

What data suggests RobiTaxi is stuck? That can only be speculation at this point. There’s no real evidence it’s stuck. I’ve seen steady progress and given what they’ve achieved, I see no reason why Tesla won’t be successful. Waymo has had their share of issues. Tesla is just being extra careful.

@ICannot_Enough Blue Origin is hopefully just getting started. They have a different strategy to reaching reusability with a large rocket. Time will tell. At least they are on the right track. Note that Starship hasn’t delivered anything to space yet but New Glen has.

Therefore, Tesla was profitable even without the government credits. They had a solution that works. My bet is that Waymo’s approach is flawed and it won’t scale. I could be wrong and I’d be happy to be wrong. More competition in this space would be a good thing. I just don’t see how they’ll be able to compete and make a profit with their current strategy. I believe they recently started to more heavily j corporate AI into their solution which will help, but for that you need data. Waymo’s ability to collect data is minuscule compared to Tesla and Tesla is just now fully solving FSD with AI. So, I’m just not seeing the path to success here.

Our new safety data is in 📈 Over 170M miles through Dec 2025, the Waymo Driver was involved in 13x fewer serious injury or worse crashes than human drivers in those same cities. At our current scale, that means preventing a serious injury crash every 8 days—a real, positive impact on road safety. Learn more: waymo.com/safety/impact/

@ZuzuPetals20 @xenocosmography @elonmusk Since we built freeways that are death barriers breaking up their territory. Cougar territory covers a large area and they need to roam it freely to hunt and find food. @grok am I right? Any other insights?

@christopherrufo This is an extreme over reaction. Cougars surely live on both sides of the freeway now. This just ensures they can travel their territory more easily without being hit by cars and causing accidents.

The craziest thing about Newsom's $100 million wildlife bridge is that it will allow cougars, an apex predator, direct access into a suburban neighborhood filled with pets, children, and the elderly. It's like the radical environmentalist version of The Purge.

Elon Musk@elonmusk

@karpathy You make a lot of great points, especially that children should learn the tools of physics early. Are you down for an AI coding contest or whatever form of competition you’d like for Andrej vs Grok 5, a la Kasparov vs Deep Blue?

@XFreeze @elonmusk And yet when Trump went all in trying to prove it, nothing meaningful came up. Must be pretty sneaky voter fraud to get past Trump.

Tech investor Joe Lonsdale states that passing the SAVE Act is non-negotiable. He claims "lots of cheating" is happening behind the scenes and warns that the public is far too naive about the current state of election integrity "We need to fix the voting... people are very naive about why this is true."

@SawyerMerritt I don’t have any concerns with RJ copying Elon, but he’s missing an important step: building profitable cars. Maybe a cash burn run to robotics will save Rivian. We’ll see.

NEWS: Mind Robotics, a startup founded by Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe, has raised $500 million. "Mind is focused on building the world’s leading industrial robotics platform, capable of performing dexterous, variable, and reasoning-intensive tasks. Existing industrial robotics can perform repeatable, dimensionally stable tasks, but a large share of industrial value-add work requires human-like dexterity, adaptation, and physical reasoning that classical robotics cannot address. We are building AI-powered robots—models, hardware, and deployment infrastructure—that will perform real tasks, in real plants, at real scale."

30+ Cybercabs on the move via transport trucks & at the crash testing facility today. I’ve had many viewers ask how these Cybercabs are loaded up on the trucks and today’s your lucky day. I captured this in progress. The Cybercabs being loaded onto the trucks have Steering wheels so this means these are for testing purposes only, likely headed to cities around the country as @Tesla prepares for Cybercabs to enter into the @robotaxi fleet sometime in April.
