@darkstar0722 @JacobBuchstaber @JarvaroGort2 "He's implicitly punished for it" meaning he has bad things happen to him totally unrelated to his actions and you will suggest that is sufficient recourse for his actions. All of the *actual* consequences of his actions are all positive for him.

I think most Mushoku Tensei fans are able to accept that Rudeus is hardly a morally upstanding role model at all, I think it's the part where you then imply that the author of the story and anybody who even slightly enjoys the story wants to literally rape kids they disagree with
CritiCold🔻@ColdCriti

Are Mushoku Tensei fans actually incapable of reflecting on why the author makes the narrative decisions they do or have they just perfected the art of lying better than other fandoms?

@JacobBuchstaber @JarvaroGort2 I love Mushoku Tensei, there are many things about it that are great, but people who try to pretend degeneracy isn’t a big part of the story or is addressed in a proper way are just wrong.

@bu99s @JacobBuchstaber @JarvaroGort2 So much of this story's theme is about Rudeus overcoming his bad traits from his previous life and living his 2nd life in a way that he won't regret and leave him happy and fulfilled. What does he do that is unacceptable degeneracy to you?

It sure sounds like Atlus is going out of their way to alienate the audience who played & loved the original Persona 4 the way it is in favor of aligning with everchanging "modern standards" that dictate all creative works have an expiration date & must be constantly "updated" to fit the most neurotic sensitivities of the era.

>proud Persona "fan" >hates the series There is an epidemic of posers that self insert themselves into video game fandoms that ruin the medium just for the sake of it. Thats why western entertainment and video games are such utter shit because of you people and you know it.

Persona 4 Revival is looking at some of the elements that were so stupid and poorly handled even by 2008 standards that it lead to 20 years of the dumbest discourse imaginable and going “Let’s try to fix that” and a bunch of morons are already calling it woke censorship

@GoybergOrange @Strain42 @GreenLotusXD yeah there were multiple parts censored out like the parts that would be called sexist ( that junpei had) or transphobic the scene in babehunt etc

People are mocking his take and kinda rightfully so. Dude is on the forefront of denouncing problematic media. Even in a room full of people who like it, on a show made for people who like it, with an audience of people who like it, he'll still scream at the top of his lungs about how heckin problematic something is.

CDawgVA hits the nail on the head of why people are so scared to like problematic media.

@pickdanger @magnumm_opus The ideal would be for Rudy to have some sort of consequence to his love life due to his actions. The story is pretty much saying “yeah he cheated, who cares?”

@BitTripBoy @pickdanger Btw it depends on what you mean as consequences. MT doesnt really have direct consequences, it has many indirect ones though. Like for example paul didnt get really punished for cheating either, BUT it happened so much shit to his family and he managed to redeem himself

My first thought was that this thing Imu was doing reminds me of the Germa anime filler scene because it's also a spear (also because I said Imu's design reminds me of a "Garuda"). It's a fairly typical spear attack move, though, so this doesn't have to mean anything.

Imu looks almost identical to the Garuda statues in Japan because that "circle fire halo" looks different from the usual Devil Fruit hagoromo, especially when he grows his wings. There happens to be someone called Garuda too, isn't there? 😉 #ONEPIECE1180 #OPSPOILERS

Imu's wavy spear/staff also resembles Zhang Fei's "serpent spear" from Three Kingdoms. Kind of an interesting concept, because Garuda and Serpents/Naga are enemies. The eyes, as I mentioned before, remind me of Doumeki, though not sure if that means anything. #ONEPIECE1180

@PC_bug @scifiwizardman @Armlo_2644 “something for her to figure out alone” one of the reasons social links even exists is that you can’t do everything by yourself and in having connections you realize both solitude & bonds are needed to discover more about yourself
