BREAKING NEWS (with the potential to be massive): The Guardian reveals Peter Mandelson failed advanced security vetting before becoming US ambassador. He was initially denied developed vetting clearance in January 2025 - weeks after Keir Starmer had officially announced his appointment. Foreign Office was ‘encouraged’ to deploy a rarely-used power to override the recommendation from security officials. The Government promised total transparency on the Mandelson affair after MPs forced it to release of a batch of documents about the process. But nothing it has released reveals this startling fact. Indeed, Starmer has always insisted Mandelson was subject to 'security vetting, carried out independently by the security services, which is an intensive exercise that gave him clearance for the role'. @implausibleblog This entire panel was sadly ruined by Varoufakis because after this he went straight to Russia to act as Putin's stooge and spread their propaganda.

Zack Polanski, "It's not enough to just be hopeful... It's about having hope and a plan" "I also disagree that left wing policies are popular" "Didn't you - Jeremy Corbyn - get 3,000,000 more votes than Keir Starmer got?" Jeremy Corbyn, "The highest vote this century for Labour, it was 2017" Zack Polanski, "That's 3,000,000 more people who wanted to move wealth away from private capital, to nationalise our water services, nationalise our public services, and that's very popular in this country" "Broadband is a good example of how the media jumped on saying it's not possible, not pragmatic. And that's their number one weapon, to always make people think that better isn't possible, and that change isn't possible" "And we know why. The multimillionaires and billionaires who pump money into wars, or oil and gas, or into arms companies, or into gambling companies" "Once they've bought up the assets, they buy the media, then they buy our democracy" "I guess we're here tonight to say that they're taken our power, they've taken our democracy, they're taken our media" "But collectively, we are going to take it back"

@ClarkeMicah So you believe in Iran's good faith and doubt America's. You cannot possibly have hard evidence either way, so you have made a choice.

.@gypsyboots8 Yes, at the end of February Iran was negotiating in good faith, according to independent intermediaries the talks were making progress. Then, with no declaration of war, the USA and Israel assassinated the government and began armed attacks on Iran. Imagine what you’d say if it had been the other way round.

@philw1982 @Robertbigbags @Mollie_Whuppie @IndieChris71 @beatrismouse @BBCPropaganda @lateturn @ClarkeMicah Was Iran really "negotiating" in good faith--or was it simply repeating impossible demands in hopes of drawing out the process and buying time?

🚨 People are comparing Angela Rayner and Richard Tice… but the situations aren’t even close. Angela Rayner: didn’t pay around £40,000 in tax that was owed. Richard Tice: paid the tax in full. The entire “scandal” with Tice? The payment was made from his personal account instead of the company account. That’s it. HMRC still got the full amount owed. In fact, he personally ended up paying more tax than he should have. One involves Angela Rayner not paying tax when it should have been. The other is about which account Richard Tice made the payment from. And people wonder why trust in politics and the media is collapsing. The people pushing this “scandal” clearly don’t understand how finance works. No wonder the economy is in the state it’s in.

On every international issue this UK govt has not only made the wrong call, it has made a catastrophically wrong call: -recognising a Palestinian state as a reward for committing the biggest slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust -not recognising peaceful and friendly (formerly British) Somaliland in favour of terrorist Al Shabaab- infested Somalia. -withdrawing almost all support for efforts to protect and restore nature internationally (in favour of a one dimensional carbon approach) -actively voting to put Iran on a UN committee responsible for tackling Gender Equality & Empowerment of Women, Disarmament, Human Rights, Terrorism Prevention Etc It is actually mind-boggling
UN Watch@UNWatch

SHAME: The Islamic Republic of Iran has just been nominated to the U.N. Committee for Program and Coordination, which meets soon to shape policy on women's rights, human rights, disarmament, and terrorism prevention. ECOSOC members who backed this include: 🇬🇧🇪🇸🇨🇦🇫🇷🇩🇪🇳🇴🇳🇱🇦🇺🇨🇭🇦🇹🇫🇮

Sad but true. Well over 2000 deaths in Egypt 2011-2014.
Peter Hitchens@ClarkeMicah

.@angl0phil Britain and the USA make peace with all kinds of ghastly countries-Egypt massacres its own people, Syria is run by an Al Qaeda graduate, Saudi cuts up dissidents with bone saws. The claim that we go to war with Iran because we don’t like its regime is a bogus pretext, fur the gullible.

If your curious about the source of this story - they quote a tweet from 2018! And yes like the majority of Brits have huge concern about horses welfare and the Grand National. Our campaign launch was about housing & rent controls. Can't imagine why the Sun won't report that.
