This is really embarrassing; it makes no sense; it’s almost sadder than what we’re seeing in Australia. Right now, this product is a complete insult to racing fans.

@JordiCarSeries P16/P22 in their first race as a constructor. A great result to even finish the race distance. Silly comment, what were you expecting?

@SwannyHypno @formularacers_ @lastwordonsport They’re forced to sell them the exact same spec they’re using as there is only one homologation. That’s clarified in the technical regulations. This post is just bs. Only differences are parts not bought by Mercedes such as the McLaren Gearbox or Oil etc if customer preferres it

@leclercsletters @jucerasoli To be completely fair, there were many races last year were the poleman had to wait a ridiculously long time for the rest of the grid to slot in, 5s isn’t the end of the world. There needs to be a minimum car length gap ahead or something.

@the_pieface 1:29.841 was the pole time here last year, Charles was 1.34.273 which is +4.4s; on mediums, with a considerable amount of lico, with an unknown fuel load. I imagine the pole time here will be in the 1.31s - bit of an overreaction, give these cars a chance.

It's really very interesting to consider the "Why" of this sidepod. While cool to look at, there is a very distinct reason that this sort of a shape was chosen. It's an interesting combination of two aero philosophies from the previous regulation set. Once I get a bit more time to put my thoughts together (and after the work day), you will get an aero analysis from me.

@Achyuth_15 @simscircuit They’re ~10s faster on the first day of preseason testing as the F2 cars were around this track last year in qualifiying.

@simscircuit His comments about being slower than gp2(f2) makes sense. Might be a bit extreme as it is always with lh but definitely way slower than GE era.

'Thats not what racing is about.' says Sir Lewis Hamilton while speaking on the new regulations: "If you look at Barcelona, for example, we're doing 600 metres lift and coast on a qualifying lap. That's not what racing is about. Here (in Bahrain), we're not having to do that because there's lots of braking zones." "The low gears that we have to go down into is just because we can't recover enough battery power. We can't recover enough battery power, so that's why we have to go and rev the engines very, very, very high. So we're going down to second and first in some places just to try to recover that extra bit of power." [via BBC]

@Usa_Iamsaga @Hawk9248 If a driver has been in the sport for 4 years and can't understand a car purely because they didn't get 1.5 days of preseason testing it says more about them. Also during the 3 month offseason they are restricted on testing the car, only for media days which is normally 50km.

@darraghR6 @Hawk9248 You might be new to F1, and you might not understand that getting promoted early on isn't just about the two previous races, but the three-month offseason to get to know the car – from December to February. And please stop talking about Honda.

Perhaps if Horner had been sacked before the season, Yuki would have been promoted from the first race thanks to Mekies, he would have understood the Red Bull car much earlier and would not have crashed at Imola, he would not have had to drive a different car for half of the second half of the season, and he could have helped Max much more, just like in Qatar. Nevermind.
RBR Daily@RBR_Daily

🚨 Helmut Marko says if Red Bull had sacked Horner earlier Max would have won his 5th Championship "If we had done that before, we would have gotten it on track faster this year and Max would have become world champion. I am firmly convinced of that." [nu.nl/formule-1/6379…]

@Usa_Iamsaga @Hawk9248 1.What is your source of Lawson being a pay driver, $2m is nothing in terms of F1/what notable sponsors does he have? 2.Yuki stayed around at redbull for so long because of the partnership with Honda that is evident as what other driver has stayed in the junior team for 4 years?

@darraghR6 @Hawk9248 Who doesn't have sponsors? Even liam need to find two million dollars to stay in F1. But he probably won't be there next year anyway. His skill isn't what Yuki had, who stayed for so long because Yuki also got skill. Do you think Calapinto is in Formula 1 because?🤑
