I'm recruiting to co-supervise a #PhD candidate, at TAIR Lab, King's College London (@KingsCollegeLon). We'll be working broadly on #Generative #AI research (both fundamental and real-world applied problems), that includes LLM, Diffusion Models, Multi-modal learning, and related topics. The PhD will be funded by "Horizon Europe" -- EU's flagship R&D grant programme. It's a good question. The reasons are: 1. The models are mostly good at web-dev, likely due to the proportion of data (on the internet) they were trained on. 2. Knowing this, the companies are explicitly targeting web-devs -- even making tools around web-dev only 3. Due to relatively low barrier-to-entry for web-dev. Thanks to an already enriched ecosystem pre-AI 4. Web dev is much more tolerant to hallucinations. It's fundamentally a bit open-ended

New paper in TMLR (Transactions on ML Research) In diffusion image modelling, we often learn the diagonalized covariance of the DDPM reverse steps.
