FYI if someone is looking to hire someone who is super trustworthy, amazing worker and organizer, and she’s probably the best “deals with people” individuals that I know. Hit me up in DM She has worked in healthcare for a long time but is sick of the whole environment. She’s lead teams, managed, budgeted, good with any basic software environment. She just wants to do something different and is up for anything remote or relocate. Legit one of the best people I know. Known her for 20 years.

🚨 BREAKING: 301,620 signatures have officially been announced for the Alberta independence petition. That is far beyond the required threshold to trigger the Alberta independence vote on October 19th. A massive day for the Alberta Independence movement.

@heynavtoor LocalSend works well, but does not fit all situations. It is great for a couple files, but does not work for transferring a large about of files. The Android interface doesn't sort and makes it hard for a large number of files. For that, SyncThing works GREAT.

You took a 4K video on your iPhone. You want it on your Windows laptop. What are your options? Email it to yourself. Compressed and butchered. Upload it to Google Drive. Wait 10 minutes. Download. Wait 10 minutes again. WhatsApp. Crushed to 480p garbage. WeTransfer Pro. $144 a year to send files. Send Anywhere. $5.99 a month and capped at 20GB. AirDrop only works between Apple devices. Quick Share refuses to play with iPhones half the time. SHAREit got banned in India in 2020 for spying on users. In 2026, sending a file to the person sitting next to you still requires the internet, a cloud server, and a corporate middleman. Someone built a tool that sends files directly from any device to any device. No internet. No cloud. No account. No cable. It is called LocalSend. 78,000+ stars on GitHub. 8 million+ downloads worldwide. Open the app on both devices. They find each other automatically. Tap send. Done. The file goes peer to peer over your Wi-Fi. Nothing leaves your network. Here's what it does: → iPhone to Android. Mac to Windows. Linux to everything. Any direction. → Send any file. No size limit. No 2GB WeTransfer ceiling. → Send entire folders, clipboard text, multiple files to multiple devices. → End-to-end TLS encryption. Certificates generated on the fly on each device. → No compression. No quality loss. The original file, as-is. → No account. No login. No email. No phone number. → Auto-discovery. QR code pairing if you want it. → Works on airplane mode if both devices are on the same Wi-Fi. Here's the wildest part: AirDrop only works between Apple devices. A $999 iPhone talking to a $999 MacBook. Same company. Same walled garden. Quick Share only works between Android and Chrome OS. Same company. Same walled garden. Apple and Google built these walls on purpose. They want you locked in. They want you to buy their hardware because "it works together." They want switching to feel impossible. LocalSend tears down every wall. iPhone to Android. Mac to Windows. Linux to iPad. Any device to any device. In seconds. LocalSend costs $0. Forever. No premium tier. No ads. No tracking. No file count limit. On the App Store, Google Play, Microsoft Store, Flathub, Homebrew, F-Droid. 78,000+ stars. 4,200+ forks. Apache-2.0 license. Built in Dart and Flutter. Active since December 2022. Your files. Your devices. No walls. 100% Open Source. (Link in the comments)

Ok, here's something I want to vent about: @Microsoft how many more fucking times am I going to see the screen‽ I've had this computer for years, and you keep wanting me to "set it up" again after updates I don't want M365 I don't want Office I don't want OneDrive I don't want to have to have a Microsoft account just to log into my computer Let my computer just be *MY* damn computer. Because at this rate, as soon as SteamOS works with Intel and Nvidia, I'm ditching windows on all my machines. This is ridiculous. My computer was already set up the first time I set it up when it was still on Windows 10 a few years ago.

As a restaurant owner I am forced to charge an additional sales tax and meals tax for every purchase. If I make a good product that people are willing to pay for, the government profits off of my labor. The more I make, the more they make. In fact, the government makes more off of my business than I do. How does that make sense? They also don’t pay me a dime to collect their tax. What’s even more wild is if I don’t pay them the tax I collect for them by a certain day each month, they charge me interest & penalties. Tell me how this is any different from the mafia. Small businesses should ban together and refuse to collect their taxes.

@PuddingtonBeer So transactions aren't Bitcoin's primary function? And a store of value is its primary function?

I could have bought Bitcoin for less than £10 per coin. I said no. And here is the 3-part case that is now playing out in real time. Bitcoin wastes energy by design. Every transaction requires 10 minutes of computing power to be deliberately burned across the network. The total energy consumption has already passed Switzerland. War is threatening 20 to 30% of global energy supply. 2 of Qatar's 14 LNG processing trains have been destroyed. Each takes 5 years to rebuild. Oil has no real substitute. When physical supply falls, output falls. The store of value argument destroys Bitcoin as a currency. When people expect the price to rise, they do not spend it. It stops being money and becomes a speculation. When energy rationing arrives, and governments are already moving in that direction, Bitcoin mining will not survive that conversation. Live proof: Trade in the Strait of Hormuz is moving to Chinese yuan. Not to Bitcoin. One fiat replacing another. The full breakdown is in my latest video going live now. youtu.be/EJicZxhhzgc?si… #Bitcoin #Cryptocurrency #EnergyEconomics #GlobalEconomy #PostKeynesian #FinancialCrisis #MacroEconomics #BitcoinMining #EnergyPolicy #EconomicTheory
