In 1 Cor. 10, Paul compares the altar of the Eucharist with the sacrifices of the altar of the Israelites and the sacrificial food at the altar of demons. "Consider the people of Israel: are not those who eat the sacrifices participants in the altar?"..."You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons." He's comparing 3 altar sacrifices. Jewish, pagan and the Christian Eucharist.

Thank you for making it clear to everyone that the Church of Rome has a low view of the Bible and that Rome's alleged "worship" is focused on an altar that the New Testament never even mentions. The NT epistles were the letters sent from the apostles and their associates to the churches. They were "God-breathed" (2 Timothy 3:16) to keep them from any error. Those letters were used to teach proper doctrine and religious practice and behavior. Those letters never mention a Christian altar as part of religious services or worship practices in the church. The NT calls the Eucharistic table trapeza (“table”), not thysiasterion (“altar”). There is no mention of using any kind of altar for sacrifices, offerings, or rituals. The focus is 100% on believers as “living sacrifices” (Romans 12:1) and to Christ as the final sacrifice. Some Roman Catholics, because of their low view of scripture and, therefore, reckless and out of context abuse of it, have tried to claim that Hebrews 13:10 references the use of a NT altar. But, in context it is clearly contrasting Jewish physical sacrifices with Christian metaphorical "sacrifice" language. The whole book of Hebrews repeatedly declares the physical tabernacle system obsolete. The the only “sacrifices” the author of Hebrews commands in his epistle are “Sacrifice of praise...the fruit of lips…” (13:15) and "do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God" (13:16). Rome's teachings and practices were unknown to and contrary to the apostles and their divinely inspired associates.

Catholicism in a free fall. Church attendance is uniquely tied to orthodoxy in that sect given its premium on liturgy (Word & Sacrament). In other words, a direct correlation between being present for church and your state of being. This trend line is bad news for America.
Ryan Burge 📊@ryanburge

In the 1970s, about 42% of evangelicals reported weekly church attendance. Today? It's 57%. Attendance among Black Protestants has held steady (~38%). Down a little for the mainline (30% --> 27%). Catholic Mass attendance was >50%. Now, it's less than half of that.

Your bio says you examine claims logically. Can you logically defend the claim the Bible is the ONLY source of infallible truth? If you cannot name a verse that teaches "Bible only" authority, can your authority structure be anything other than incoherent? If a truth claim fails its own test, can it be logical?

@Catholicizm1 Does having a conversation with someone mean they endorse everything about them? "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick… I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

@BibleInContext1 If Jesus was setting the pattern of only heeding what was written, then anyone who followed St. Paul and the other Apostles' oral witness was disobeying.

Sola scriptura was taught by Jesus and His apostles! The only reason someone wants to dismiss this doctrine taught by Jesus is so they can include all of their man-made traditions and pretend they’re divinely inspired!

@sola_chad @JoshuaBarzon Baptism, Communion, Confession of sins, marriage - these are rituals Jesus gave us. To remove Christian rituals is to deny Christ.

Ben Shapiro: “The main pitch for me to become Christian would be to get rid of all the rituals. As a Jew, I do more rituals than you as a Catholic. Catholicism is more similar to Judaism than Protestantism. Catholicism essentially backfilled all the rituals of Judaism.” That’s because Rome teaches a false gospel filled with rituals. The Biblical gospel teaches that we’re saved by grace through faith apart from works. Ben would love being a Protestant.

If the Church that Christ built was hijacked (and the gates of hell prevailed over it - ironically something he promised Peter wouldn’t happen) - that’s a pretty big deal right? So why did you have to consult AI to even find out when this seismic event took place? And why is there so much uncertainty and debate about when this hijacking took place? A bigger question is - where did the real church go? Can you point to any unified body of “real believers” who hold to your preferred set of beliefs before, during and after this “scam” was set in motion? Or do you have to wait until after the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century in order to find the system in which your beliefs are rooted? And if Leo I was the first false pope who hijacked Christ’s Church (or was it Gregory I? How are we not sure?!) … then do you accept all the beliefs of the Church prior to him? Have you looked into what the early Church believed, practiced and taught prior to Leo? I wonder if you would adhere to all those beliefs. Feel free to look into it. The early Church Fathers is a good place to start to understand what the apostolic Church looked like. Here they are in their own words. churchfathers.org

"Catholics" licked Peter, later called St. Peter, and tried to claim him as the first "father", but there was no Catholic religion or saints until hundreds of years later. Ironically in the long tradition of fraud @pontifex assumed the name of Pope Leo who is recognized by historians as the first Pope in 440 AD. It helps to remember that in 440 AD few people could read and it was extremely easy to manipulate and dominate people. The Catholic Church is quite possibly the longest running scam in human history.

If your belief that is Mt. 24 was talking about Paul and Rev 2 (which was written decades after Paul) was rebuking Paul... and yet you reject the book of Acts and the Apostles who accepted Paul (who called his letters scripture) - then that's the very definition of creating your own religion. Join Jesus's religion. The Church. The Christian faith. Nothing is stopping you from believing Jesus whose apostles can be trusted. He sent them to speak for him. On the other hand - a tiny sect of cherry picking anti-Paul cultists have built a novel sect of Hebrew Roots or modern Ebionites or something. Whatever religion you are. They reject Jesus because they reject who he sent. Stop listening to them - they'll lead you further astray. God bless.

@dave_stotts @BrimstonedLLC @Protestia If Paul taught contrary to Jesus - and the more if Jesus negatively prophesied about Paul (Matthew 24:26), and rebuked his doctrines in Revelation 2, we are obligated to "cherrypick".

'I'm going to say this in the nicest way possible. I don't care what the bible says. I just don't care...at the end of the day Paul was wrong." Pastor Joe Smith of Meizon Church (Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) explains that he doesn't care what Paul says in the bible.

There isn't a religion called "Jesus". You have your own personal religion. I encourage you to let go of it and embrace apostolic Christianity. Jesus told his apostles, whenever you speak, I speak. Listen to them. And when Paul was added - by Jesus himself (per Luke) - listen to him too. Get baptized in a Catholic Church and become a Christian. You will no longer be stuck in your religion of one and you'll be a member of the body of Christ. We would welcome you as a brother (as Paul was by Peter). Peace.

Christianity isn't a denomination but it is a religion. Meanwhile your personal "spirit" journey is a religion of one. I encourage you to listen to the whole New Testament, rather than cherry picking the parts you like and rejecting the ones that don't fit your personal religion.

@sammograph @Chibi_San_ @DeeWaynee94 @DrFrankTurek Acts is an appeal letter to Caesar written by Luke, on Paul’s behalf, to the Roman magistrate named Theophilus. So is the Gospel according to Luke. It turns out, in the end, there wasn’t even a need for it. No one in Rome even knew anything about his “perils” in Judea.

@BrimstonedLLC @Protestia So YOU have the Spirit of God, but St. Paul (who Peter accepts and the Apostles accept, Luke describes being converted and sent by Jesus himself) you reject. So what religion are you? Your own? What's it called?

@dave_stotts @Protestia Begs what question? My “creedal system” is the Spirit of God. The One He promised me. Tell me you can’t have the Spirit of God if you don’t believe the Bible. Go ahead. (You don’t grasp the concept that I DO believe it. Every word. I’ve just read it. You should try it.)

@BrimstonedLLC @Protestia The Apostles in Jerusalem accepted St. Paul (see Acts 9:26-28). St. Peter refers to Paul as "our beloved brother Paul". If you reject St. Paul, you reject the Apostles. Which means you reject Christianity.

@Christojt @Lina_Rapture69 @FrMatkin Roman, Benjamite, Herodian, Pharisee, encountered a “blinding angel of light”, “in the desert”, per PAUL, who told him that God’s Law is done away with. Almost like Jesus KNEW what was coming…
