Over 4 hours, 2 splinters, 1 cut, 2 banged shins, 2 bruised knees, a very sore back and fingers but then your 4yr old Princess says, "Thank you, Daddy! It looks amazing!" #WorthIt

@TigersJUK @Bigmac161616 @GregEno @michigan_truth Because this is Twitter, I'm reiterating that I'm not being a asshole. Here is Miggy compared to Albert. You're correct, his prime was insane. But look at the end of each career. If you take away Pujols miracle season in '22 (cough cough, juiced balls), they're both equally bad.

@TigersJUK @Bigmac161616 @GregEno @michigan_truth Not arguing that Albert had the bigger peak, and he may have actually been the better overall ball player. But aside from the roughly 2 seasons longer that Pujols played, even with WAR being cumulative, it just seems asinine that he's 34 WAR better. That's all.

@Bigmac161616 @GregEno @michigan_truth 100% The back end of Miggys career was garbage, and Pujols may have been worse aside from his last season renaissance with STL. But there's no F'ing way that there's 34 WAR difference between the 2, outside of Albert playing the equivalent of 2 extra seasons worth of games.

@GregEno Without diving deep into it, Pujols had more pull HRs I believe. And while his spray chart was pretty good all over, Miggys chart was more evenly spread over the entire diamond for hits that weren't HRs than Albert.

@davebabich Pujols has 101 career WAR and Miggy only has 67. That's not what I expected to see. Clearly I have a bias. Peak Pujols was maybe every bit as good and I think you could argue for him over Miggy. Miggy was great at adjusting mid-AB. I wonder if Pujols sprayed the ball.

@IYKbaseball Unfortunately, T-shirt Tommy is still the owner, and while he has been doing better the past few years, he could still be a wildcard when it comes to certain things asked of Trajan regarding the roster.

@ekrup I was watching Willie Hernandez, but Henneman is the 1st one I remember. Then, after him, it seems like we may as well not have had one because it was very unlikely that we were ever in position to need one.

@Charlottean28 Fair point 😅 I just remember him (although fuzzy) being an excellent defender.

@SerieFilmAfroUS Pretty sure it's shown later in the series that he's neither much of a gangster or a boss.

Arguably worst stretch in franchise history. Certainly one of the worst 81-game stretches ever. And with no season next year baseball is basically done here until 2028.
Bob Nightengale@BNightengale

Yet another gut-punch for the Detroit Tigers who blow 9th-inning lead to the Baltimore Orioles and lose 5-3 on a walk off. That’s 8 losses in a row. That’s 16 losses in the last 18 games. That’s 1 step closer to putting Tarik Skubal on the trade block.

@Bigmac161616 @OleTimeHardball I'm with you, and while not as old, you know we see eye to eye on much. But Max and others were in that transitional time where nerd numbers overrode traditional stats. And in the "only two outcomes" version of baseball, having a K/9 ratio of 11 and 3500 Ks is better than Ws.

So Dan "Jinx" Dickerson mentions Jansen's last 6 scoreless outings like 3 times then adds the old "this guy has no power" line for good measure. What a clown. #Tigers

@OleTimeHardball He is probably going to get into the HOF with the lower statistical expectations of the modern SP. He is not a first ballot HOFer, but he will likely get in.

@baseballegghead @VandyonTigers Ironically, the precious farm system that Harris has developed is so unbalanced that it has zero pitching. So even if he hits on some of his babies, by the time the hitting and fielding are ready, they will still need to add pitchers through FA or trades.

@VandyonTigers This never was a playoff caliber ROSTER. The Tigers made the playoffs (barely) the last 2 yrs bc their division is weak, and they had a few good pitchers. The lineup and defense have been dreadful since Harris took over. Ppl just ignored it bc 86 wins snuck into playoffs

Every analyst around the Tigers wants to say it but keeps dancing around it… this team flat out stinks right now. Injuries absolutely buried them, but the bigger truth finally got exposed: that “untouchable” Tigers farm system wasn’t nearly as ready as everyone sold it to be. Scott Harris protected this system at the deadline instead of upgrading a playoff-caliber roster… and now fans are watching replacement-level baseball while being told to trust the process again. For 2 years we heard about “organizational depth.” Well… depth gets tested when injuries hit. And the results have been ugly. Let’s hope for a W in game 2
