@DavidMooney Here they go trying to rewrite history and pretend they’re great fans, city are not called the liars for nothing. For decades we took over their ground on derby day. For 6 years in a row in the 80s Maine road was not even half full and for lots of other years not even 2/3s full

What gets forgotten about this game is that, before it, City announced several stands would be shut and Joe Royle told the press it would be a team of fringe players. People act like 3,007 was the norm and not an extraordinary one-off in a season of regular 28k+ attendances.

If your identity as a fan of a club isn’t about embracing all aspects of it, then you’re missing out. Trying to prove you’re better than everyone else at everything at all times is boring. Get knocked out of the cup by a balloon or play a goalkeeper outfield once in a while.

@DavidMooney He only missed 9 games through injury. The others were Carabao Cup ties against League Two or League One opposition, or/else games he simply wasn't selected for. Bellend.
