@ScottHastings13 Lot in common with him Scott: from Co Armagh, like Guinness and goal “not to come last!” He’s star.

@davidparks Ah, the mind. “… great ride.” I wrote it while watching an Olympic equestrian event.

Only 20% of people are engaged by their jobs. That means that despite all my hard work, 80% of bosses are jerks. (Wanted to say assh***** but backed off a bit for the sake of civility.)

@metadaddy @tom_peters Pat - I found the same but unfortunately over the years my accent has become more mid-atlantic. Folks in the UK call me on it and folks in the US think I am just another American with a quirky accent.

@tom_peters I’m originally from England, with quite a ‘BBC’ accent (or lack of an accent!). In my 20 years working in the US, which has included lots of public speaking, I’ve found that to be quite advantageous! People tell me I sound smarter and more trustworthy 🤷🏼‍♂️

@tom_peters Reading this reminds me of a pivot point when you keynoted at Microsoft in Seattle. Ballmer in row two and 1,100 “smartest people in the room.” Your theme was “The 7 Deadly Sins At Microsoft.” ARROGANCE x 7. How they have changed! From “know it all” to “learn it all.”

95 percent of coaching is helping people get out of their own way: •Overthinking •Comparison to others •Self-doubt •Not doing the thing you ACTUALLY want to do •Trying to make things happen when what's required is time and space (you know this!) •Fear of walking away

@thefriley @successmagazine @Nextdoor I hadn’t really thought about the original source of my open water swimming buddies. It sprung from a post on ND in Marin. A now dear friend,Rachel, invited brave souls to swim in SF Bay. We’ve been a tight group for 3.5 years now. Without Nextdoor it would never have happened!

@tom_peters Tom, people issues in AI world will become more complex/confusing/chaotic than ever if people do not know their own mind first.

Though 4-tech-degree holder, am champion for liberal arts. Someone close sneered. “As AI takes over, LibArts will become irrelevant.” BULLSHIT. May be mass disruptions, but will have same # of people on earth, and “people issues” in AIWorld will be MORE important than ever!!

I've been fortunate to spend time and work with hundreds of national and world-class performers in sport, the arts, and intellectual fields. None of them wake up at 4:30am to hop in a freezing cold tub of water.

I was thrilled to be a guest of Invest NI at the Irish Technology Leadership Group in Silicon Valley. Highlight was meeting Paul O'Connell, former captain of Ireland and the Irish & British Lions. Thank-you Leslie Barnier Guy at Invest NI. #investni #leadership
