@nclfuzzy @WalkerMarcus No and No. I’m much less interested in ideology than you seem to be. Life is mostly more interesting than tropes.

Sad. The Church of England has ditched the lovely old term “maiden speech” and brought in the new Lanyardist HR-approved “debut speech”.

@talkChristianly I’ve gleaned from pastoral ministry, plenty marriages are non-sexual wrt intercourse whilst sexually active wrt tenderness and physical closeness. Many CPs already look like these and marriage is the Christian shape surely for such profound faithfulness even before we discuss sex

Why would clergy entering into same-sex marriages risk splitting the church, in a way that clergy entering civil partnerships has not? A thread:

Bahram’s memory lives on and we continue to give thanks for his short life.

Bahram Dehqani-Tafti, only son of the first #Persian #Anglican bishop of #Iran, was murdered #OnThisDay 45 years ago. His sister, Bishop @Guli_FD, spoke recently about her brother's killing - and other reflections on the #persecution that #Christians in Iran have endured since the Islamic revolution of 1979 - as part of a @BBCRadio4 broadcast in the run up to #Easter. You can read more about what Bishop Guli had to say here 👇 🔗 articleeighteen.com/features/15907/ #Article18 #FoRBForAll #Place2Worship #Converts

The Cathedral Community is deeply concerned and saddened by news of a fatal stabbing in our town last night. Our prayers are with the victim, their family and friends and all the emergency services involved. Knife crime affects us all. It will take all of us to address it.

The boat accident in Sicily is totally tragic for all involved but compare the coverage of this to that of the many boats sinking regularly in the channel. Objective journalism?

This appears to be a lynch mob surrounding and attacking a black man in Manchester. Any politician who doesn’t unequivocally condemn this, keeps trying to ‘explain’ it, and uses the ‘enough is enough’ phrase, is guilty. Arrest them all. Zero tolerance.

@carolynjs67 @TheVicarageCat @s_j_march Much love. We the church are very inconsistent especially when it comes to pastoral care. I’m as guilty as the next but not lacking in good intention either. So sorry it is so hard. Dx
