Retired Gen. Wesley Clark, former NATO supreme allied commander, calls for a total blockade of Iran, warns against a ceasefire, and says the US shouldn’t be deterred by economic costs of the war. Clark told CNN that the US should patiently “isolate the country, squeeze the borders, go after the strait, make the blockade 100% around Iran,” predicting that once the IRGC “start to lose, they will come back to the table.” He added that air and naval power, including unmanned vessels, could largely eliminate Iran’s ability to threaten shipping around the Strait of Hormuz without deploying US ground troops, but it “won’t happen instantly.”
