@drewsanocki Never built or sold a company but I have 7 year old and twin 2 year olds. You’re right about the energy thing and having kids young. Mine wasn’t by choice it just happened that way but the struggle is real (but worth it).

Had lunch with a 33-year-old entrepreneur last week who asked about my biggest regrets after 25 years of building and exiting multiple companies. Surprise: NONE of them were business-related. 🧵 At 53, looking back on multiple exits and decades of entrepreneurship, my biggest regret is not having kids earlier. I waited until my 40s. Now I have a 10 and 12-year-old at 53, but I missed precious years when I had even more energy.

@youderian Showed this to my wife today Andrew. She started to cry. Twin two year olds and a seven year old at age 51 and 43 is tough. Thanks for the post. Would love to chat and catch up with you sometime. Really proud of all you have accomplished since that summer almost 25 years ago.

Everyone shows you the highlight reel of having kids. The cozy fire. The soft-focus newborn. The Instagram-perfect family moments. And sure, those exist. I remember bringing our first daughter home, watching my wife Annie by the fire, all teary-eyed and magical. That magic lasted about 12 hours. Then reality crash-landed. Zero free time. Endless toddler chasing. Conversations squeezed into 30-second bursts. Some days, I questioned everything. Had I made a massive mistake? Where was my freedom? My life? I wasn't the selfless parent many aspire to be. In those early years, I was thinking more about what I was losing than what I was gaining. Parenthood felt like a constant sacrifice, and I wasn't always graceful about it. @ShaisTaub dropped some wisdom that hit different: Parenthood isn't about your satisfaction. It's an act of service. Pouring yourself into these tiny humans who demand everything and give back in unexpected ways. Now? My kids are 7, 10, and 12. We ski powder together.  They make me Valentine's cards that could melt the coldest heart. And they don’t need me for every tiny thing. There’s plenty of time still with kids fighting, us parents losing our patience - no perfection here. But something shifted. The love grows. The challenges become adventures. I've also gotten just a little less selfish. To parents drowning especially in those early years, feeling overwhelmed and alone: I see you. It gets easier. Sometimes even downright amazing. The work you're doing? It matters more than you know. Hang in there.

@Morbidful "Barreaux will now spend two years in jail and attend anger management sessions." The stab was 2 cm away from the victim's heart. So attempted murder = 2 years in a resort style prison and some counseling. No wonder why Europe is in shambles.

In 2015, Julien Barreaux was so infuriated about losing a Knife fight in the popular game Counter Strike, that he spent six months tracking down his opponent, and stabbed him in real life.

@RadioFreeTom That’s horrible. I feel a little bad that we get such good treatment living overseas. I applied for our newborn twins to get USA passports and I think it took 3 weeks to get them from the consulate in Berlin.

A small number of anti-McCarthy R's voting present/abstaining (instead of voting for someone by name) will help him by lowering the threshold to win, since they don't count as official votes. But if all 212 Dems vote Jeffries and 11+ R's vote present/abstain, then Jeffries wins.

Some white people may choose 👍 because it feels neutral — but some academics argue opting out of 👍🏻 signals a lack of awareness about white privilege, akin to society associating whiteness with being raceless. n.pr/3oA9X9s

@grace_driggers My symptoms were so light I would have had no idea that I had Covid without testing. We were all back to normal in a couple of days. Glad we had the vax and were able to test for free. You two are very responsible. 👍🏻

@grace_driggers It’s not the best study but I would say yes, masks probably work. We were Covid free for almost 2 years while traveling on multiple continents in both 2020 and 2021. We finally caught Omicron from our son who caught it at school (we think).

Of course we needed an in-depth comprehensive Jan 6 investigation but did the taxpayers need 3?1/impeachment post presidency 2/Dept of Justice(on going and securing convictions) 3/Capitol Hill Committee (on going?) Overlap is expensive and distracts from other business.

@chrislhayes @grace_driggers The politics would not be different but the political outcome would be significant. 10X the death toll means a large proportion of GOP voters would unable to vote in 2022 and 2024. Potentially making more Georgia’s possible.

I think I've come to believe that even if the Covid death toll was *ten times* what it currently is, the politics of all of it wouldn't be appreciably different.

@BillKristol The simple fact that liberals have embraced vaccines and masks is the reason the right finds them so offensive.

1. Many of the views, attitudes, prejudices, and pathologies of today's Right seem to have pretty obvious intellectual, cultural, sociological or psychological sources. But I'm kind of bewildered by the source of the fanatical and fevered reaction to masks and vaccines.
