Monday night reset: did you move with purpose or just stay busy? Be honest, adjust, and tighten your focus. No new plan needed—just stronger execution. Stack small wins, stay disciplined, and set tomorrow up with what you do tonight.

You don’t need perfect conditions. You need consistency. Train when it’s inconvenient. Show up when you don’t feel like it. Progress isn’t loud. It’s built in the quiet moments nobody sees. Eat like it matters. Sleep like it matters. Because it does.

You are NOT “starving”! There are around 3,500 calories in a single pound of human adipose tissue, along with a supply of fat-soluble vitamins and nutrients. Our physiology evolved to handle extended periods without food. Days or even weeks of scarcity were common for our ancestors. (And no, I’m not advocating weeks-long fasting.) A good portion of the hunger drive is chemically induced by fat cells. Insulin-resistant adipose tissue sends false “starving” signals to the brain even when the body has plenty of fuel. Gradually working up to 24–48 hour fasting windows helps break that insulin resistance and restore proper metabolic function.

When we recently read the post by @thegarybrecka about the benefits of getting Lactobacillus reuteri into our diet, it connected dots with my amazing wife who, after studying under the discoverer of the strain years ago at N.C. State, was familiar with the reported benefits....

Z3 in the Sun Probably a combination of stress, lack of sleep, and heat, but just couldn't get my HR below 150. It was hard work but set out for 9 and ticked 9 off ✅️ strava.app.link/6VB4fw0MR2b

Protein: Chicken, Beef, Fish, Supplement Carbs: Fruit, Rice, Potatoes Fats: Cooking Oils, Meats Go hard on a few protein sources for 1g/lb, sustainably carb maxx, and keep fat low at .3g/lb. Over complication is the #1 reason people don't show up to summer how they want.

Turn 41 this week… Summer of 2017 vs Summer of 2025… took me way longer than it should’ve, but learned a ton. I will make more progress in the next 18-24 months than I did in the last 8 years. DEXA below.

Men who stay lean year after year aren't more disciplined. They figured out that walking, lifting, eating well, and sleeping are the same habit at different times of day. Each one feeds the next. It's not discipline it's understanding.

Carbs are not your enemy– they're important for energy, brain function, and digestion (from fibre), among other important functions. Eat nutritious, complex carbs- here's a list: -Whole grains: oats, rice, quinoa, bread or pasta -Lentils and beans -Starchy vegetables: potatoes, sweet potatoes, butternut, etc -Fruits and vegetables These all provide sustained energy and have a low glycemic index

Chest & triceps pump got me walking out the gym like I just saved a village from a dragon… Reality: I pushed metal around for an hour, made weird faces in the mirror, and now I can’t scratch my own shoulder. Respect the pump. Fear the doorway.
