@zenbreetai @GrgHys @straczynski B5 had story arcs within which universal themes of politics, religion etc played out. Because they were universal they still apply today. Modern shows write about their personal politics, then try to shoehorn a story around that. It hasn't worked yet.

@GrgHys @straczynski I always want to understand how people who complain of wokeness watched Trek and when. Did they grow up with it (well TNG onwards like me) and watched every episode as it aired, or did they digest it many years later in one shot during a different time in history?

To answer all the questions, yes, it’s true, Babylon 5 is in active development as a series for the CW. We have some serious fans over at the network, and they’re eager to see this show happen. I’m hip deep into writing the pilot now, and will be running the series upon pickup.
