(7/8) Top players in particular don't make up much of the denialist sentiment anymore if any, but the arguments still float out there and I think pointing out how bad they are every once and a while matters.

(1/8) While I don’t think these tweets represent much of the community anymore, these sentiments can still be found sometimes. There is a small contingent of the scene that believes any recognition of Japan is bias in their favor.

@Ento_SM64 @LoopBarnard MKLeo and Sonix have made similar comments in the past, but I don't think it's only from Latino smashers. The guys on Smash University and Lights Out, notably Charles, share the sentiment.

@LoopBarnard The Mexican top players certainly do. I remember Sparg0 saying about the criticism on AlanDiss being 58th on LumiRank something like "Ah, if only he was Japanese, then people wouldn't complain" and similar comments.
