@CityofMiami removed the beautiful benches at Big Hill Park in Coconut Grove, disabling the public use of this intimate space. The whiny and wealthy who have our public officials on speed dial benefit from living in a city, but reject urbanism.

Being able to make quick and consistent improvements to our streets for bicyclist and pedestrian safety is absolutely imperative. It should be the norm. Unfortunately, projects are often conceived as one-off responses to tragedies like this. A tragic day in my city.

We are told this fatal crash was a bicyclist killed by right turning truck driver. This horrific news shakes us to the core. The entrance to the Venetian @ Purdy Ave is one of most highly traveled bike routes on Miami Beach. There is room to protect intersection. Must be done!

I love to hear that @MayorDaniella is committed to finding a way forward for permitting pandemic closures like Fuller St in Coconut Grove. Leaving this closed is a no-brainer, and would be a great first step is learning from what worked during periods of crisis!

Great news! The @MiamiBeachNews Transportation & Mobility Department recently conducted traffic counts along #WashingtonAve. Data shows safe, protected and low stress bicycle infrastructure help encourage #modeshift by residents and visitors to bicycle.
