Here’s a recent pic I took of the empty land where the Wells Fargo by Sunset Harbour used to be in Miami Beach. Site will become a new 40,000 sf Whole Foods & the bank will be coming back. There will also be a 271-space parking garage onsite 📍 1901 Alton Road

@JeffreyBrandes - Smart roads (AI signals + sensors) Common talking point by electds now, but is there any idea how much $$$ and how long this could take to implement? Traffic signals are incredibly complex...

Super important to understand why most people would welcome Parisian-style apartment housing (left) but not “five over one” apartment (right) to their neighborhood —yes, one reason is that the Parisian building is easy on the eyes while the American apartment building is painful to look at. —but we also prefer small-scale apartment buildings where we’re sharing stairs and entrances with limited households and can realistically know our neighbors —we like buildings that are attached to adjacent buildings and form a street wall and coherent block —we like single stair buildings with dual aspects units that “live like a house,” with one window wall facing the public street and another facing the back courtyard —we like multifamily buildings that provide residents with private green space —we prefer durable construction materials like masonry to combustible materials like stick frame

Cringe. You fixed a parking lot. The most basic low tier maintenance. It’s like celebrating unclogging a toilet. Our airport is still falling apart. This is everything wrong with our broken ego-driven performative politics. Miami-Dade leaders are unserious people. #BecauseMiami
