Letting half your rotation enter unrestricted free agency and selling it as "optionality" is wild. Lakers are the scammiest front office in the league with Rob being a perfect mouthpiece to spin that as a positive. There is a 75% chance Lakers are a worse team next season.

@notoriouswmc @NBAStatGuy_ Brother they are hard capped they CANT sign him. They’d have to give up draft capital just to get rid of other guys to make room to sign Watson! The Braun contract screwed them. And they can’t trade Gordon bc he’s old and getting paid a ton.

@NBAStatGuy_ @notoriouswmc Getting off Johnson and certainly Braun won’t be easy since their contracts are so big. And if Watson is so unproven like you say then they would balk at giving him 30. And he’s only 23, which is exactly why the lakers need him. He can evolve, young athletic, big and toolsy.

I think I’d personally prefer Eason instead of Watson He’s cheaper, a better fit with Bron in the starting lineup, and there’s a better chance the Rockets don’t match. I also could see us absorbing a guy like Cam Johnson or Jarrett Allen (ik some don’t like them) with our space

@RedickGotNext Yes we need a big who can do both. Hayes can catch lobs but isn’t reliable defensively. And if you want to rely on a fist string center who is never healthy that’s another issue. Then Jaxson Hayes would ONCE AGAIN be the best center on the roster, which is HORRIBLE

@RedickGotNext And still can’t defend the paint just like Ayton. We need to trade for a good center that can defend and catch lobs. Thats it. It might take a couple FRP’s to do it. Trading Vanderbilt, laravia and knecht and 25 this year + 2028 for claxton makes the most sense.
