चुनाव ख़त्म होते ही, ‘संकट’ याद आ गया! दरअसल देश के लिए ‘संकट’ सिर्फ़ एक है और उसका नाम है : ‘भाजपा’ इतनी सारी पाबंदियां लगानी पड़ीं तो ‘पंच ट्रिलियन डॉलर की जुमलाई अर्थव्यवस्था’ कैसे बनेगी? लगता है भाजपा सरकार के हाथ से लगाम पूरी तरह छूट गयी है। डॉलर आसमान छू रहा है और देश का रुपया पातालोन्मुखी हो गया है। सोना न खरीदने की अपील जनता से नहीं, भाजपाइयों को अपने भ्रष्ट लोगों से करनी चाहिए क्योंकि जनता तो वैसे भी 1.5 लाख तोले का सोना नहीं ख़रीद पा रही है। भाजपाई ही अपनी काली कमाई का स्वर्णीकरण करने में लगे हैं। हमारी बात गलत लग रही हो तो ‘लखनऊ से लेकर गोरखपुर’ तक पता कर लीजिए या ‘अहमदाबाद से लेकर गुवाहाटी’ तक। वैसे सारी पाबंदियाँ चुनाव के बाद ही क्यों याद आईं है? भाजपाइयों ने चुनाव में जो हज़ारों चार्टर हवाई यात्राएं करीं वो क्या पानी से उड़ रहीं थीं? वो क्या होटलों में नहीं ठहर रहे थे या सिलेंडर की फ़ोटो लगाकर खाना बनाकर खा रहे थे? भाजपाइयों ने चुनाव में ही वीडियो कॉन्फ़्रेंसिंग से ही प्रचार क्यों नहीं किया? सारी पाबंदियाँ जनता के लिए ही हैं क्या? इस तरह की अपील से तो व्यापार-कारोबार-बाज़ार में मंदी या महंगाई की आशंका की वजह से डर के साथ घबराहट, बेचैनी, निराशा फैल जाएगी। सरकार का काम अपने अकूत संसाधनों का सदुपयोग करके आपातकालीन हालातों से उबारना होता है, भय या अफ़रातफ़री फैलाना नहीं। अगर सरकार नहीं चला पा रहे हैं तो भाजपाई अपनी नाकामी स्वीकार करें, देश को बर्बाद न करें। वैसे भी इन हालातों की असली वजह विदेश नीति के मामले में देश की परंपरागत ‘गुट निरपेक्षता’ की नीति से भाजपा सरकार का हटकर कुछ गुटों के पीछे, कुछ ख़ास वजहों और दबावों की वजह से चलना है। इसका ख़ामियाज़ा देश की जनता को महंगाई, बेरोज़गारी, बेकारी और मंदी की मार के रूप में भुगतना पड़ रहा है। किसान-मज़दूर से लेकर हर युवा, हर गृहिणी, नौकरीपेशा, पेशेवर, कारोबारी मतलब हर कोई इसकी चपेट में आ गया है। सच तो ये है कि भाजपा विदेश नीति और गृह नीति दोनों में फ़ेल हो गयी है। ये अपील भाजपा सरकार की अपनी असफलता की स्वीकारोक्ति है। दरअसल वोट मिलते ही भाजपा का खोट सामने आ गया। भाजपाइयों ने चुनावी घपलों से राजनीति को प्रदूषित कर दिया है; नफ़रत फैला कर समाज के सौहार्द को बर्बाद कर दिया है; अपने चाल-चलन से भाजपाइयों ने संस्कृति-संस्कार को कलुषित कर दिया है; साधु-संतो पर प्रहार और आरोप लगाकर धर्म तक को नहीं छोड़ा है और अब अर्थव्यवस्था का रोना रो रहे हैं। इस तरह तो सांस्कृतिक, धार्मिक, राजनीतिक, सामाजिक और आर्थिक हर क्षेत्र में भाजपा ने देश का बंटाधार कर दिया है। इस अपील के बाद देश की जनता में अचानक आक्रोश का जो उबाल आया है, उसका प्रबंधन भाजपा किसी चुनावी-जुगाड़ की तरह नहीं कर पाएगी, अब भाजपा हमेशा के लिए जाएगी। देश कहे आज का, नहीं चाहिए भाजपा!

On 24 January 1950, the Assembly adopted Jana Gana Mana as the National Anthem while explicitly according Vande Mataram equal respect and status as the National Song because of its historic role in India’s freedom struggle. To suggest that India’s constitutional founders “rejected” Vande Mataram is factually incorrect. Second, the argument that Vande Mataram is merely an ode to a goddess deliberately ignores the civilisational context of Bharat. Across Indian traditions, the motherland has long been personified as “Bharat Mata”, not as a sectarian deity, but as a cultural and emotional expression of devotion to the nation. Nations across the world employ symbolism, allegory, and personification. Britannia represents Britain, Marianne represents France, Mother Russia represents Russia. India’s cultural symbolism cannot be selectively delegitimised simply because it emerges from Indic civilisation. Third, reducing Rishi Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay to caricatures about his alleged views while ignoring the historical role of Vande Mataram is an exercise in ideological revisionism. The song became the rallying cry of India’s anti-colonial movement. Countless freedom fighters marched to the gallows chanting Vande Mataram. Revolutionaries, reformers, and patriots across regions embraced it as a symbol of resistance against British rule. Its emotional power in the national movement cannot be erased by retrospective ideological filters. Fourth, invoking the Preamble and Article 1 to deny the legitimacy of civilisational nationalism misunderstands India itself. The Constitution begins with “We, the People” because sovereignty resides in the people, not because India must become culturally rootless or severed from its ancient civilisational identity. The phrase “India, that is Bharat” itself acknowledges continuity between the modern republic and an older civilisational consciousness. Constitutional nationalism and civilisational identity are complementary, not contradictory. Fifth, the rejection of amendments invoking God or goddess in the Constituent Assembly affirmed that the Indian State would not establish an official religion. It did not require India to abandon its civilisational ethos, cultural memory, or spiritual vocabulary. Secularism in India was never meant to mean hostility toward indigenous traditions or the erasure of majority cultural symbols from public life. Finally, the claim that “religion ≠ nation” is a false binary in the Indian context. India is not a theocratic state, nor does nationalism here depend on adherence to any one faith. But India is undeniably a civilisation shaped by millennia of Indic thought, traditions, symbols, and philosophies. Respecting Vande Mataram does not make India less constitutional, less democratic, or less inclusive. It simply acknowledges the cultural soul that animated the freedom struggle and continues to inspire millions. India belongs equally to all its citizens. But India’s civilisational heritage also belongs equally to all its citizens and Vande Mataram is an inseparable part of that heritage.
