@billohoops Take 5% off the top for agent, that’s $475,000. If this athlete is in NY, which is high taxes, they will pay ~35% combined state and federal on the 475k which means they keep 308k. Aside from that since they file as independent contractors and not as an employee……

NIL reminder: It sounds great when a college basketball player signs an NIL deal for $500,000. But when you learn that the player has to pay taxes on the $$$, pay his agent a percentage and often hire a pro trainer to help develop the player’s talent, there’s not much left.
